sorry, all I see is that stunning white F Type
Congrats on your new toy: a fried of mine had a 2002 Cooper S and it was a sweetheart of a car. Not ideal for highways (chop), but man, is it fun to throw around some corners and zig-zag in city traffic!
Enjoy and congratulations again!

+1. That car is flawless. That year and model is the best of the modern MINIs (perhaps with the exception of the rare limited edition GP). What a find!

Thanks again for your help! I texted you after I brought it home...what no love?!? j/k

There were a few items discovered after the PPI. Now just searching for the most fair price to get them addressed:
Thermostat
Control arm bushings
Strut mount.

Estimates ranges are crazy, from the dealer $1900 to an indy shop near my home $1500. Posted the items needing repair on NAM, and the guys choked on the quotes. I have inquires into Bimmerworks in West Chester and Helix Motorsports in Philly. Philly is just a PITA for me however.

Sorry, thought I responded.
MINI dealers are generally overpriced, but some will offer a 10-15 percent "good guy" discount if pressed. Both Helix and Bimmerworks are performance shops, so they will also offer high estimates. For routine service items you should look for a reputable independent shop familiar with BMW/MINIs. I only go to the MINI dealer for electronic/electrical issues.

And I was scheduled to work with a geographically close reputable independent shop familiar with BMW/Minis (Euro brands actually): Home - Swedish Motors

But then Otto's Mini in West Chester, undercut their estimate by over $300 bucks. So I'm scheduled with Ottos unless Helix or Bimmerworks comes back with an even lower quote. How low can they go $1900...$1500...$1200...

Love that Mini - great year. If I am correct, last year of supercharger vs turbo and a favorite of many people who mod their Minis.

Here in Portland/Beaverton there are a couple of tuning/parts places.

Almost bought a Mini but was derailed by friends that the car was too ... you know. Should have got one.

What..."too small"?!?!?
Hell, I'm getting the same comments from some friends, but I don't give a dump!

if I listened to my friends about their "car advise," I would have never gotten a Jaguar either!!! And I'm the go-to car person out of the bunch, so their advice means little.

Despite liking F-type (and old MGBs), I don't get the appeal of Mini. I think as far as hot hatch Subaru WRX or Golf GTI are much more entertaining.

If you don't get it, you won't get it.

Just saw your post, congratulations again on a nice find! Can't wait to see it in the metal.

Looks like we may need to start a "My other car is a MINI" thread
