Default Porterfield R4S pads now available

I was just doing a search to see if anything else has come to market for our cars and ... jackpot! The R4S is a great high performance low dusting pad for the street.

The Porterfield website isn't great, but I was able to piece the following part numbers together.

AP1750 FRONT 380MM
AP1753 REAR 376MM

AP1751 FRONT 355MM
AP1752 REAR 325MM

AP1763 FRONT CCM
AP1764 REAR CCM

MSRP on the Porterfield site is $255 for front and rears. LPI Racing (never heard of them before) has them listed for $190 with free shipping. Smaller sizes are a few dollars cheaper.

I know VelocityAP sells them for Aston's. Stuart - can you hook us up? I'd rather purchase through a sponsor. If enough interest, maybe we can get a group buy?

Used them for X/yrs on a Z3MCoupe...great for street and track, but later "upgraded " to track pads when using track rubber.
Most pleased they are available for our cars....though in 5 or so track days I haven't had fade that was noticeable.

The R4S isnt really meant to be used on tracK. Yes you can get away with it, but definitely not recommended. If you're going to the track you really need the R4.

Ill be putting in an order soon along with some Endless RF650 brake fluid.

How do these compare with the EBC Red pads?

Shaun,
Great job, man! Thanks for sharing. If Stuart will sell them, I'm in.

Hi Guys,

Yes, we've sold tons of the R4S for the Astons, and a bit of R4 as well. R4 is a full on track compound. R4-S is a super low dust application for street use, but will stand up to some occasional track use.

Will get these listed on our site and get a buy going shortly. That said, $190 is at 10% margin on these parts, there may be some listing error there by another vendor. Take your CC fees off that and it's barely worth selling!

So you are saying you can do better than $190...

Burt,
Yep, four brake options on the F-Type, all with different size combos.
Your R will have the first combo listed above, 380 mm front and 376 mm rear. Unless of course you have the CCM option.
My S has a combo not listed above, 380 mm front and 325/326 mm rear, but I'm looking to upgrade my rears to the 376 mm ones.

So what are the drawbacks with these? They seem to be cheaper and perform better than the stock pads. Do they last a significantly smaller amount or is it just a case of being cheaper cause they're not sold by Jaguar?

Drawback (and reason for lower price) is the lack of Jag logo.

I'm definitely willing to pay a little more to purchase through a sponsor.

I would like to get these changed and fix a few other nagging items prior to the Lobster Run.
