How is the rubber seal circled in red supposed to sit - under or over the plastic trim piece marked with the X?
The pic is from my driver's door and most of the seal is underneath the plastic part, but partially it's over it. It feels like it should all be on top of the plastic part, just like the other seal right above the circled area. Any ideas how this is supposed to sit?
Ok, so all of that seal should definitely be under the plastic door trim?
It's really easy to flick it over to the outside and when I tried that with a piece of the seal on the lower part of the door it let out some water. This was right after a car wash which is why there was some water inside but I want to make sure that this is positioned correctly so that water doesn't get trapped somewhere in the door.
Having that seal under the loose plastic trim just didn't look or feel right after all. Did some online research and on every single car I've seen the seal is on the outside, so I pulled it out. This is the way it's supposed to look.
Looks like the door cards were off at some point and the seals weren't positioned correctly afterwards. Or maybe it came like that out of the factory. It wouldn't be the first time I had to adjust some trim and seals on a Jag. :P
