This is a rubberized undercoating, it's basically there to protect from salt water, small stones and deaden sound etc. Google 3M rubberized undercoating, it comes in a spray can and is very easy to use and doesn't drip. Just peel off loose coating and spray it on.
You can give it multiple coats if you want.

Given that this pothole was big and deep enough to dent the chassis, getting the wheel checked for dents/cracks, and having the alignment looked at might be a good idea.

Certainly looks like a dent (and crease) in the floor pan. I suggest you have a Jag approved body shop look at it. They can also repair the undercoat.

where exactly do you see the dent/crease?? The floor pan is not even in photo .The photo is of where the rubber compound is by jacking points which is uneven .It went in yesterday and was checked and could not find anything.

I don't think that's a "dent." Obviously the undercoating is very uneven, and what looks like a crease appears to be stamped into the aluminum.

It's probably misleading to refer to it as a "crease." I'm looking at the indented lines in the left of your photos above, first and third are horizontal and middle one is nearly vertical.

Well, maybe it is just a mark in the underseal.

But, that still means the chassis hit the ground.

Were you driving off-road, or are local roads really that "character-building"???
