Default Protective Door Sill Coverings

I just dropped my car off at the detailer for a paint correction and Xpel wrap. One of the areas I asked to be wrapped were the door sills. I got the car new in November 2019 and with winter and quarantine had not driven it much. The sills had already managed to get a few scratches on them though.

The detailer noticed that the sills had a thin plastic sheet covering them that was never removed. I had no idea it was there. Peeling that up took most of the scratches with it.

You may want to check and see if the coverage is still on your door sills.

I have the film covering on mine ('20 F-Type R). Thought I'd leave it on awhile to help save the door sills from getting beat up. It's starting to look a little shabby now so I'll probably peel them off.

The film is still on the passenger side on mine after 5 years. Protects from not-so-careful passengers. Haven’t had a need for it on my side.

Yeah, the Jag would have been gone a long time ago if she had read about the F-Type runs up to Maine.

I took mine off the other day, in the process of cleaning the car up after delivery. I was surprised it was intact after 4 years. Unhind, you do have a good point about the careless passengers though.. maybe I should have thought that out.
