Default Puddle lamps have gone wonky - 2015 F-Type R coupe

Our puddle lamps have gone odd. They used to display the leaper but now cast a very odd looking splotch - on both sides (picture below). Is there a hidden setting somewhere that got changed? Or are both lamps broken somehow?

Both of mine did the same thing after a few years which I kind of suspected would happen. I simply replaced them with a new set -- only $14 for a pair of them on Amazon.

If your puddle lights had the Leaper, those were not factory units as they never came that way. Many people (myself included) have swapped out the factory incandescent units for Leaper units or Growler units you can find on eBay, Amazon, and other sites. Unfortunately these aftermarket ones don't last that long--especially if the car is used as a daily driver so they are constantly in use. The good news, however, is they are very inexpensive (under $25 US shipped, even though most come from China), and take less than 5 minutes per side to swap out--no tools required and no automotive repair knowledge needed. The puddle light units are on the bottom side of the door and simply unclip from the rear edge (towards the back). Just pull down and the unit will come out. Then you disconnect the two-wire plug and remove the unit. Installation is just the reverse. Seriously, it takes less than 5 minutes per door.

Assuming you thought those were factory units leads me to believe you don't have the factory puddle light units. If you did, two other options would be to reinstall the factory incandescent puddle light units, or for less than $15 US you can replace the incandescent bulbs with T10 (or 194) LED bulbs (such as these on Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B079L3WBDN/) in the factory units for a much brighter, more effective, and better looking puddle light than came with the car. If you don't have the factory units you would have to source those first.

Yeah those are definitely broken after market logo puddle lights. I still haven't come across any that last and after a couple of different logo lights I decided to go back to the factory units with some super bright LEDs which last over time.

The way these aftermarket lights work is via a little plastic window with the logo painted on it that the light shines through. It looks like your logos have either melted away (just from the heat of the light being on) or a cleaning agent has perhaps wiped them away.
