Default The quest for 600RWHP - My Build thread.

Hi all,

Proud to be a member of the forum here. Been a member for a few years, always wanted to get a 2014 XKR-S, but never pulled the trigger. When The F-Type came out, I was in love. I knew it had to be a V8S or an R, due to owning plenty of 600RWHP+ vehicles in the past. Here are a few of my previous builds.

625rwhp CTS-V Coupe:

A 573HP Supercharged STS-V:

A 584HP BMW M6:

Custom turbo GT86 FR-S:

Lifted Avalanche LTZ:

This thread is going to document my 2014 F Type V8S Convertible, fully loaded with every option available. In Firesand Orange, with black interior, its literally everything I wanted. Performance Pack, Design & Black Pack, Audio Upgrade, Active Exhaust, 20" Black Tornado Wheels, Climate Pack, Premium Pack, Premium Audio, etc. Every option, $108k.

Havn't done too much just yet. Applied a ceramic coat before winter to keep all the dust and crap in my garage with a cheap product that was sent to me - Gloss Shop 2.0. That an an interior detail, came out quite well. It looks very red in this one picture.

Next step was to clean and seal the top with 303. I know most on here brush it on, but I had good results just spraying. You can see how the water repels off the fabric top in the video. Well worth the time.

And now the fun stuff. Took advantage of black friday and got:
VAP Tune
Eurotoys Crank Pulley w/ smooth idler & belt
VAP Supercharger Pulley
VAP Catless Downpipes
Ravenol 5w-20 Oil Change w/ Wix Filter
One Step colder Plugs
Blackstone oil analysis

Going to be heading to my dyno shop for before and after dyno pulls. I still need to figure out if the water pump is leaking (I think it is,) fabricate some type of intake, and blast and repaint these wheels something better looking.

I have spacers and H&R lowering springs to be put on as well.

I also ordered the carbon fiber and window hood from DarwinPro, and I got the front park sensor brackets from Meister_Kajo, and with the help from him and Unhingd (thanks guys!) I'll be doing the P7 barless front grill.

I am about to pull the trigger on SVR fenders and rocker panels, but am running into a few snags along the way with those as well.

Cool. FYI - I use a paintbrush to apply the 303 waterproofer. I'm careful, so I don't mask anything. I open the roof about an inch to keep away from the front rubber trim.

Very Cool! I'm excited to see your progress. I loved my CTS-V and am thinking when I let go of the Jag getting back into one (gen 3). Cheers!

Help others out here by letting us know what you paid for it here some 4 years later and how many miles it had on it for that price.

As in not owning an SVR so they won't sell you the parts to make it look like one. Yep, known & understood issue.

Yes, I saw everyone doing this too. I dont have the patience for that, sadly. The spray appears to have worked just as well, judging by the video.

Thanks! I loved my V2 as well. I wouldn't consider the V3 though, because I need a coupe and manual trans if I'm ever to get another. The ATS was just too small.

It has 30k miles but there are some circumstances that wouldnt warrant discussing the price I paid for it.

I am highly skeptical you are a JLR authorized dealer/shop.

Need some opinions with the new panels coming in. So far I have:

Darwin Pro Glass / Carbon Fiber Hood coming in to get painted:

Darwin Pro Carbon Fiber SVR Style Fenders coming in to get painted:

Also am going to do the P7 Bumperless Grille

And paint the rockers two tone with black. As well as the front bumper accents.

Which leads me to my first dilemma, the engine cover. There have been some great examples thus far:

But having a V8 RWD, my engine cover is somewhat different.

Im thinking of cutting out the mushroom in the middle, and putting this mesh behind it:

The question is, do I paint the supercharger lid, or leave it the aluminum finish? Do I paint it orange, and leave the cover black? Do I hydrodip the cover, or just paint it? Leave the lid aluminum, mesh black, cover orange? Having a hard time visualizing which would be the most appealing through the hood without being obnoxious.

If you're going to run the Darwin hood and have the engine exposed, I would leave the engine cover as is. Your cover already has the Supercharged emblems on it (which the AWD models do not) and it would look cleaner unhacked and almost like a factory option. Similar to the ZR1:

I understand why the other guy cut his, to relieve heat, but if you're purely going for aesthetics I would leave it as is. If you're looking for some function, remove the cover all together. It's too bad our superchargers aren't better looking otherwise it would be a no brainer to just pull the engine cover and be done! JMO since you're asking for input..

I am pondering milling and polishing the heat-x cover. I’m looking for a used one to work on so I don’t have to take the car out of commission.
