Default Questioning My Choice of Wheels

OK guys, my lock out date for changes is Tuesday the 26th.
I've chosen the 20" Tornados in silver, but I just want to make sure they are the right choice. Since I am female, and too girly for the black wheels,, I want to stay with the silver. Is there another choice that would look better with my S Coupe? Exterior is Lunar Gray.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Wheels are so personal a choice, hard to say....Personally, I feel silver wheels are too common. My first car, a Honda Accord V6 Coupe had silver wheels! But at the same time, I don't like too black wheels because I feel black hides the shape/details of the wheels too much. Given that, between black and silver, I'd go with black. I ended up going with the gyrodine dark gray wheels as a compromise. Ideally, I like a titanium finish or a dark, dark gray finish.

I really like the gyrodyne too, and obviously my orbits which are neither black nor silver

I'm the opposite. I personally prefer the silver to the black/darker finishes.

PD2911, I've posted pics of my 20" Tornados on my car (a British Racing Green V8S) if you want another data point on what these look like. Let me know if you'd like me to repost (or just search for tornado and my username and you should find them)

Keep us posted!

Ive looked over all the black wheel choice for the coupe and they just aren't working for me. It gives the car more of a "bad boy racer" vibe than I need.

I love your wheels! Especially on the Stratus Gray. They are 19s right?
Would the 19 look as good as the 20 on mine? I know you choose them b/c of the roads there. How do you think the 19 orbits would look with the Lunar Gray?

PD2911, good call on the silver Tornados. Since you aren't going with the darker Stratus Grey or the Black Pack option, your Lunar Grey will work nicely off of your F-Type S' lighter-colored side vents, window trim and splitter, which the silver wheels will also complement. Black Tornados may take away more from your Lunar Grey than you'd like.

I think you are on the right track with the silver for a couple of reasons. Firstly as you said the black wheels have that racer look, but most importantly as trends change black will look dated but the silvers, be they brite or painted are timeless and will always look current. Good style always trumps fashion in the end .

Here is a Lunar Grey with the Diamond Cut Gyro. Unfortunately the pictures were taken on a rainy day but I saw it on a bright day and it is stunning. The Grey paint on the wheels is a pretty close match to the Lunar Grey.

With the Lunar Grey and no black/carbon pack, I'd go for the 20" Rotor Wheels.
Classic 5 spoke brushed silver will match the silver vents and mouth nicely and give good contrast. I don't like the Tornado wheels on the Coupe although I love them on my Vert.

Gyrodynes. Although the Rotors also look good.

I wish Jaguar would offer grey-colored wheels instead of just black and silver, given that choice I would have preferred those over black but on my car, silver was a deal breaker.
Whatever you chose,I wouldn't go by your lock-out date though,my SM said that is certainly subject to change....so hurry up already, lol!

I recently saw a F-type convertible at a stop light in Lunar Gray and it looked great.. its a 'metallic' colour so it had more snap than some of the flat colours. It was across 4 lanes of traffic so I couldn't make out the style of wheel, but they were silver. The lady driving it waved as she past buy and had a huge smile on her face.. she was having a great time. At my club a lot of the ladies drive white SUV's and they seem a bit non-descriptive in that colour .. its hard to match up cars to colour most of the time, yet the ftype seems to get along with most any colour.
On my Italian Racing Red I had ordered it with the standard Gyrodyne wheel, but the dealer messed up and it came with the diamond cut grey wheel, and after I saw it in person, it looked good as well. The dealer ate the thousand or so extra dollars for the optional wheels and tossed in some other goodies for the trouble so I kept them.
On yours I think the gyrodyne silver might be a bit better than the Tornado only because the Tornado has the bolts all around and it might take away from the look of the ftype. On my last XKR I had the Tornado wheels and they looked good, but for some reason they may be just a bit 'busy' for your car. Anyway, it would be good with either and I'm sure you'll love the car with your choices.
Lawrence.

Same dilemma with different base colours

Ordered a Firesand Orange V6s Coupe : thought black wheels would a) date quickly and b) looked chavy. But all silver was a bit too detracting so went for the Orbit 19". I had also tried 20" on a demo car and preferred the ride of the 19".

Not seen a Firesand with these wheels yet but they look lovely on white. Just a hint of silver is enough to offset the black.
