I had no idea about the service warranty. It looks like the 2016 warranty covers every service up to 5 years and the 2015 is just the first scheduled service. Do both of these also cover oil changes?

The "free service" is only for a required annual service, which consists of an oil/filter change and a system check. They cost less than $500 at most dealers. So, that's worth no more than $2K in savings since the first one is free for everyone.

Everything else is covered free under warranty, which is 4 years on 15s and 5 years on 16s. As I said above, the discount you can negotiate on a 15 more than makes up for the $2K in service savings.

On a 15 R, you can probably knock off $10-15K (possibly more) off MSRP without breaking a sweat, and it would probably be half that on a '16, which start with a higher MSRP than 15s. With the savings you can buy an extra year or two of warranty and still pocket some money.

Thus, it really only boils down to whether you want AWD or not.

That's basically all the "service" is... an oil change...

Not that enticing then. Bummer.

I'm going to shop around for some '15s then as I don't really care about AWD.
