Default Quick question about F-Type I'm purchasing

Does that indicator light mean there is a potentially serious issue? I'm buying sight unseen and having it shipped. Thanks in advance.

My guess if this is a car you are looking to buy but haven't seen or driven yet, and it's a seller photo, is it could be any one or two of hundreds of things, 99% of which are innocuous, such as (very likely) "door open".

Or, that warning means a song on that radio station used a swear word!

SERIOUSLY,

I'm sure it's as they said, a seat belt is unbuckled or a door is 'A JAR'. With the F, you need to start the car and press the 'MENU - OK' button to clear all the indicators, one at a time...and least that allows the engine to settle-in to a nice idle before you begin a drive.

I think the Ok button only clears the yellow warning triangles that indicate problems and appear in the upper left corner of that screen.

The red warning triangle actually says "ignition is on" when you start the car with the door open or open the door after starting. It's basically a visual indicator of the chime that you would hear going off during the photo.

It's a weird system when you think about. I guess yellow warning triangles indicate mechanical problems and red warning triangles are normal operating conditions that could cause a harzard?

The manual says the red warning triangle means that there’s a critical warning message available in the message center, and it’s been suppressed with the OK button. If you can’t find in the menu what it is, I’d restart the car to see if the message comes up initially.

Check the manual.

As DJS mentions, it's a general warning sign. Having said that, starting the car with the driver's door open will trigger it. It's create a "door open" message and graphic but that disappears when you press OK leaving only the general warning sign visible (which is likely what the owner did).
