Rear hatch and starter issues
2016 F-Type S Coupe. Need to open rear hatch after accidentally closing with battery disconnected. Also which relays activate the starter sequence located in the engine compartment fuse box. The starter clicks when the ignition button is pressed and the clutch peddle is fully depressed but the starter will not turn over the engine. I get a second disengaged click after a couple seconds. I pulled the starter and a bench test seemed to show it functioning properly. I did order a new starter but not sure it’s my problem.
Just throwing this out there as a longshot BC it would probably be my next interest if this were my issue - the clutch switch must send a signal it is depressed as part of the start sequence. If, for some reason it has stopped sending a signal, the start sequence would be interrupted. Only sign that is not true is the click. It shouldn't even click if the clutch switch is bad but maybe worth a look.
Assuming that you've got the supercharger pieces back together again and are finally ready to start the engine - Congratulations!.
You've probably checked these, but I'll first throw out a couple of basic "Is it plugged in?" questions.
Have you tried connecting a battery or jump starter to the terminals under the bonnet/hood?
Do you have a solid connection between the starter and cable - both ends?
That being said, I did find a wiring diagram list that may help (see attached). Check the wires for both the starter and trunk hatch.
Good luck.

First I’d like to thank Valerie as to opening rear hatch, got er done! I attempted a push start in my driveway basically to ensure the motor turns over, the engine did fire but would not stay running. I think even with the new starter something isn’t right I’ll know more tomorrow. Thanks for the input.

A quick reply regarding my original post. It turned out a 400amp fuse in a black box adjacent to the battery had blown, you wouldn't know unless you measure the voltage on both sides. The fuse is fed from the positive battery cable to a buss feeding an assortment of fuses. The 400amp fuse allows voltage through a similar gauge cable through the forward bulkhead to the front of the car. I replaced the fuse and engaged the starter with success! The engine turned over but would not run but it did show signs of life. The cure was simple and of my own making. I decided to verify that I had reconnected all the assorted plugs and connections related to replacing the supercharger, and so I found a rather significant plug at the rear of the engine on the drivers side. Once attached the engine purred on restart! Why the fuse was blown is a mystery, I suspect I didn't use the proper procedure charging the battery and may have caused the failure. I now have two spares. By the way, the starter is removable without messing with steering parts.
