Hello, just bought a 2023 model F-Type P450 75 Edition in Eiger Grey, and the rear Black Quarter Light Trims on both sides have started to come away at the bottom leading edge. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do about it?
Yes, I have contacted the Jaguar Dealership where I bought the car. They say they will get back to me with a date to book it in to replace them, but it's been over a week now since I reached out.
The same occurred on my car, a 2024. I wanted to swap to the aluminum from blackout anyway so took it as an opportunity to do so, but what a pain.
Interior requires extensive disassembly, but, worse, the part has a stud in the rear that is captive in the part but that is not secure at the stud's rear. When the part ships from warehouse to dealer, it gets jostled and this stud then damages the face of the part. Your dealer will have to order several times to get a usable part.
Happened to my 2024 F-Type on the driver side too. I'll get it fixed at the dealership at first maintenance. Apparently it's really common but I wonder why??

So you had this exact same thing happen on the F-type you had before this one too I gather?
The same thing happened on my 2018.
Now what infuriates me is that both sides of my 2022 are popping loose as well. This has to be a cronic problem that Jaguar has known about for years and yet they haven't bothered to fix the problem in at least four years.
Anyone got a good picture of this issue to post up? Went and inspected my 2024, but I don't have the sense that there is anything wrong. I looked at the link posted by Tangled above...I believe the pictures there are supposed to covey a problem but I can't really see what is being talked about in those pictures...I must be blind...

It's noticeable when it happens, especially if its one at a time because the trim lifts away from the body. Not enough to look like it'll fall off but enough to annoy, ugh. I read some have tried gluing them back in but I think the dealership should take care of it.
No idea how it happens, doesn't seem clipped in which could be why it happens.

Not clipped in? Geez, that seems odd if that is the case. Do you know that for a fact?
I will keep an eye out for sure. It is hard to believe that they let this go on over so many model years. I had the impression Jag was pretty good for addressing issues on the line when they arose. I thought not doing so was reserved for GM ;-) They are really bad for that, the new Corvette being a perfect example. Bit disappointing to see some evidence now to the contrary.

Update, here is a couple of photos showing the trim lifting. On the driver side (left) its more noticeable from than right (passenger) which is fine because I tried some super glue to fix it but it didn't hold and left white flakes underneath from the glue. Less noticeable from a distance but is up close under light.
There was a thread around here somewhere and in it, suggestion to just superglue it back in place. Yes, a new F under warranty shouldn't have to be repaired by its owner and should be repaired in a timely manner, and it's not, so decide for yourself!
I had the same problem on my MY2017 premium coupe. Oz suggested super glue or the Oz equivalent thereof. I have some of the gel formula, it doesn't run on the vertical as much as the regular kind. I used FrogTape to protect all around that rear corner and gently squeezed some in from the top. Pressed it down and held it until it stuck on its own. Left the tape on until I felt the glue was cured and then removed it. Worked fine.
Here is a picture of the Quarter Light Trim lower leading edge issue on my car, where it has come away, on the right hand side of the car. The other side is the same. There is a slight curve in the body below this point and what I think is happening is that the plastic Trim moulding doesn't have this curve moulded in and it relies on the sticky pad underneath to hold it down, but over time and hot summer temperatures, the sticky pad has failed?

That is how the exact same bit of trim on my car looked when I first got it just over eight years ago now.
Easily and permanently fixed back then with a small dab of gel super glue.
Must be gel not runny to avoid the glue squeezing/running out and making a mess of the trim/paint.
All I did was put a drop of the gel glue on the end of a toothpick, gently pry the offending trim up a little further (say around 2 mm), carefully poke the dob of glue well under (away from the edge), spread it around a little using the toothpick, extract the toothpick, then press down medium hard on the trim and hold it like that for about 60 seconds.
Came out looking like new, no fuss no muss, and hasn't budged a micron in the nearly eight years since.
Update that I finally had my 2024 F-Type's trim fixed under warranty by a Jaguar dealership. Thankfully they had the part in stock and the Service Advisor said the part alone was $1,503 😲 Also said they had to remove that side rear fascia glass and some headliner to replace that trim. Stupid that Jaguar couldn't make it with clips like any other car manufacturer could.
The trim was replaced and looks fine however they misaligned the side rear fascia glass so it wasn't flush with the driver side window, see below photos. Not only looked odd but it created wind noise so I had to take it back but today they fixed it all well and good thankfully.
I've been upset at this trim by the door handle for years. It is definitely a design flaw. After staring at it for years I finally said lets try 5 minute epoxy applied with a small piece of tubing and a syringe. I masked off the area incase I got epoxy on any painted surfaces , I applied a big dab then taped it down with duct tape until it set. No problems and I should have done this years ago.
Not my only peeve with Jaguar but my pet peeve is the fact that the trim pieces on both sides for the rear windows on my 2022 are coming loose in exactly the same manner as did the same pieces on my 2018 model. It would seem that Jaguar could have fixed a design or installation problem over a four year period.
Finally heard back from Jaguar dealer and replacement trims are in stock at last - it's booked in for mid June to have the work carried out under warranty. I will update the thread with pictures when it's completed. 🤞
