Default Removal of the front license plate bar

First post, new F type "S" owner. I'd like to remove a few pieces to have a faux carbon-fiber hydro-graphics treatment applied and the license plate holder and bar across the front grill is a candidate, however removal isn't exactly intuitive. Has anyone removed the bar and if so can you offer some instructions?

Welcome to the forum Philip,

Is it the Deflector (arrowed in blue) and the Number Plate Plinth (licence plate holder) you want to remove?

I expect the US will use the rectangular Plinth (item 1) which is usually fixed with pop rivets but could be done with self tappers:

The Deflector (item 15) appears to be secured from the rear with a number of nuts and screws:

Being a similar design to the XK, the factory way will be to remove the front bumper but it should be possible to access the fixings from below after removing the Undertray (item 23)

When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

It appears to be the "grille beam", it's the crosspiece to which the license plate holder is attached. The parts diagram you supplied may answer my questions, looks like lots of stuff in the way.

After reading your Intro about making custom Kawasaki luggage racks, this shouldn't be a big challenge.

It's early days yet for the F-Type but with the other 2 door models several aftermarket custom parts suppliers have marketed alternative grilles. It's likely the same will happen with the F-Type and changing these could become a regular upgrade.

Removing this "grille beam" will get the F-Type front end looking more like the Project 7 car. If the F-Type debuted without this horizontal beam I would have been first in line to buy one.
