Default Replacement windshield gasket?

I’ve got a foot long crack in my windshield thanks to a direct rock strike.

When I have the windshield replaced, I would like the edge gasket (on left, top and right side) replaced also. I think mine has taken some UV damage because when I wash the car, I get some kind of tough rubber smear on the paint from this gasket that is hard to wash off.

I can’t find this piece on any of the exploded views for the windshield. Does it come bonded or ship with a new OEM Jag windshield?

Unhingd — I saw that before, but mine is only one piece... not three pieces. ??

Got the answer! It comes bonded to the windshield and is not ordered separately. I called a high volume Jag dealer who had one in stock to find out.

On the coupe then when the screen is replaced make sure they position the new one so the top edge is either exactly flush with the roof glass with a flat edge places across the edges, or else very slightly lower down. The first time mine was replaced they mounted it about 1/2 mm too high which created a perfectly tuned whistle at speeds above 75mph. You could play tunes with the car by varying the speed. If they follow the workshop manual for replacing the glass it will explain this. Most leave the factory with it very slightly lower than the roof.
