Default Replacing License Plate Lights

Hey there,

My left license plate LED is intermittent - slamming the hatch on my coupe down, it sometimes comes on and sometimes doesn't. Very annoying. Any suggestions here on how to fix, should I replace the bulb, how to get those suckers out?

Where can I order new ones? Much appreciated all!

They are not just bulbs...They are complete units and integrated into the case. License Lamp - Jaguar (Part# T2P1745). They are ~$35 each.
See below. Will see if I have anything more on the process.

I think it looks like this....

NOPE, they don't sell the $35 light anymore. I tried Harper Jaguar and then also another place. It took four weeks of waiting with different stories, it was back ordered, then held up in customs then the final word was they don't sell the individual lights anymore. The only thing you can buy now is the whole black piece held on with 3 or 4 torx screws which includes 2 lights, and the trunk release button. It's $119. The lights are removed by taking off the black piece and pushing the silver spring and removal of the light from the back. If you find a place that still has the lights in stock for $35 please let me know. Thanks.

Simply going by this. Got to the point to pay, but do not need them...sooo. Also, might be worth trying the ones on AliExperess for much less?

Good luck,
DC

That was the part number I tried, previously. I ordered, we’ll see what happens. Thanks, and BTW, your DIY write ups are great.

Yeah...Good luck! Maybe report back if success.

And you are welcome for the DIY's and info. More to come as I continue to play/learn about these cars.

Take care

Not buying or selling here, but here is what is listed on Ali as a potential option if those are not available?

BTW, confirmed they no longer make that part. My order with jaguarparts.com was cancelled.

Insanity. Gonna buy those Chinese knockoffs.

Yes I placed and order too, then realized that was the place I ordered from last. Doh! Yes I got the dreaded email, they cancelled my order.
