The alternator should be able to keep your battery fully charged with the number of miles you are doing.
Maybe there is a faulty module in your BSM system causing your faults and creating a battery drain BUT because you have a almost new battery and driving lots it is taking a while before it presents in the normal way.
Maybe get a cheap plug in cigarette lighter volt meter to see if it is dropping slowly.

brand new car with a brand new battery. I'm fairly certain I have a faulty sensor module on one side of the car. The wiring to that module looks sloppy and only that side blinks in the mirror before tripping the fault notice.

Glad you got in to see the dealer more quickly

I find the color code socket on the ctek (with the red / amber / green) isn't that reliable. It often says mine isn't charged after a long run. But a digital multimeter says it is

Do you have a digital multimeter? If not, grab one for $10 and measure battery voltage. On mine (AGM) it measures around 12.6 or 12.7 V when charged. 12.4 is low and suggests an issue. Numbers are slightly lower if a non AGM

But on the mileage you do there shouldn't be an issue with charge unless battery is failing. They can fail early sometimes - on any car
I do far lower miles on my F Type and I only charge it on ctek over the winter. In normal use I can go 2-3 wks without using it sometimes and battery still fine

On the reverse traffic issues, sounds like a faulty module. Pretty typical to flash / update software first to rule that out. But as others have said software shouldn't suddenly 'go bad' whereas a module can

I'm sure they will track it down and fix. Sounds like it's a frequent enough error that they can replicate

Good luck!

Cross traffic and BSM are the same circuit and use the same sensor modules. If you look under the car up behind the rear bumper cover, you'll see the modules. My passenger side module has tight wire harness plugs. On the driver side the wires are all strewn like a 5th grader wound them. My guess is s faulty module. Mine stopped working completely a couple weeks ago.

Last year, bcause of Covid and a neighbour's building work mine sat unused for over two months and it started on the button when I came to use it. I did give it an overnight charge after that, just to make sure it was completely topped up.

Car has been at dealer for three days. They said it is a bad sensor module causing the failed BSM and rear cross traffic. They ordered one and are waiting for it.

that's what I thought it was since one mirror on only one side was blinking repeatedly before faulting the system.

Cgo: do you know the sensor module part number or ID.
I would like to give my dealer a heads-up what to look for that they missed last time.
Any idea what the delivery is like for the part?
Thanks

No. I don't have the car back yet or the paperwork which will have that info.

I believe this is one of the two. You can see them if you crawl under the rear and look up in the corners of the bumper.

I moved my appointment up to tomorrow (Wed).
I fgured there was no point in getting a loaner and leaving the car awaiting parts..
They can do the diagnosis then call when they have the part(s).
I'll let you know the outcome.

at least your dealer has loaners. Mine has zero and wont even provide a rental car. I thought for once I'll get loaners after buying a luxury brand and spending well over 6 figures. Guess not. Lol

Lots of brands are doing without loaners as there are so few cars available to sell that they struggle to assign some to be loaners instead of selling them...
But v frustrating if your dealer doesn't have...

My RAM dealer provides shuttle service when servicing my truck. JLR dealer has nothing.

Update: dealer called. Told me to come get my car. The faulty module is backordered with no ETA. My car was out on the lot, filthy, rained on, and covered in dirt. Nice... i hate dealerships. Ugh

At least they haven't ruined the paint by letting an apprentice "clean" it.

Wow.. Just keeps getting better. I hate dealerships too, but, this isn't all the dealership's fault. Things are just crazy everywhere right now...

Yup. I waited two months for a replacement OEM windshield for my truck.

I had this exact issue maybe a month ago. They kept my R for 2 days to diagnose then waited 3 weeks for the part to come in. 5 days of it in the shop later they replaced the module and it was working again. Definitely no battery issue, like other poster I drive this a lot (also 8k miles in under 8 months). I've unfortunately had a lot of issues with my MY21. Including rebooting infotainment randomly, parking sensors, conv top issues, etc. Last visit seems to have resolved these issues, fingers crossed. Don't know what they did with this model year, my previous MY17 was rarely in the shop.

I removed ( and then later re-installed) F15 to see what it would do the exhaust tone.
Did nothing as far as I could tell.
Perhaps different between R-Dynamic and R models.
But ironically it did seem to at least temporarily resolve the BSM and reverse cross traffic problems.
The replacement BSM sensor is on order. Will just have to wait to see if problem returns.

If you have active exhaust, pulling F15 in the driver side engine compartment fuse box will keep the flapper valves wide open. It was F43 on previous year models I believe.

The fuse for the cross traffic and BSM is F11 in the cargo area fuse box. I pulled that fuse and put it back in and the system worked for about 10 miles. Lol
