Frankly I am not surprised new sensors did not solve the issue.
The fact that it is intermittent suggests a bad connection somewhere.
Pity to lose the car for so long, but I would have been much more pissed if this happened in the Summer.

The latest on my BSM/reverse traffic detection problem is pretty shocking.
After replacing both rear sensors to no avail, the car has now been in the shop fo 3 weeks.
Today I was told to expect at least another 2 weeks while the shop foreman does a "pin test"on all circuits to determine the cause of the "communication problem"..
I am starting to think that this car qualifies as a "lemon".
I can not imagine what the cost would be if this car was not under warranty.
If I do end up keeping the car, it certainly reinforces my intent to dump it before the warranty expires.
Neither of my other vehicles has been so finicky - in fact, none of my cars for the past 20 years at least has been such a PITA.
It does look good but it is meant to be reliable as well.

So sorry you are going through this! I would be so disappointed. I believe you are the third one on here to have the same problem on a new car (reported on this forum).
I wish Cgo would update as well. I kinda wonder if he's already unloaded the car?

So far as I am aware there are at least 2 others on this Forum with the same problem , both on MY2021's.
I just took first steps to seeking redress from JLR under MA Lemon Law.
Will re-evaluate depending on what happens in next 2 weeks.

I finally got the car back today after 5 weeks.
Not surprisingly (to me) the final diagnosis was a bad connection to one of the rear sensors.
Time will tell if the fix is good.
Now just need to get the door fixed (repainted) because they managed to scratch it while in the shop!
Despite all this crap, I must admit to gazing fondly at a new BRG 2022 R in the show room.
Only thing was they added $10K dealer surcharge for short supply, plus this totally loaded $130K car did not come with BSM or rear cross traffic detection!
Hard to understand when those functions.are standard on many cheap cars including my $40K Jeep.

I would bet the reason is the chip shortage.

You may be right but it seems like such an important safety feature in a modern vehicle, it is hard to understand why JLR even prices it as a $550 option.

I agree, but at least it's an option. It isn't on C7 Corvettes and they have worse visibility than the Jag, imo.

This. Many 2022 JLR models aren't coming through with BSM and keyless entry because of the chip shortage.

I love how it have taken the dealer months to sort this out when everyone here already knew it was a loose connection from the get go given your pattern of intermittent failure.
Also if you think about it there are only a few connector points to trouble shoot (assuming no rat damage to wiring itself) - sensor to wiring(x2, for left and right), wiring to the module(x2) , module to CAN, power to the module

Fingers crossed for you.

I had my 2021 F Type in the shop yesterday for another attempt at them fixing the issue with the infotainment system not connecting to a Wi-Fi signal. The technician, who seemed well qualified told me that the next step would be to remove the overhead console, the section under the armrest and the panel behind the center console and start tracing all of the wires for a short. I understand that there is some kind of antenna under all of those sections that receives the Wi-Fi signal and feeds it to the main infotainment component. They would have had to keep the car overnight and offered me a loaner.

I declined the repair. I just didn't feel comfortable with having the interior taken apart in a car that is only 8 months old. It could be as simple as a loose connector but finding it was going to be another story.
My Samsung Android phone will connect to the internet and I have the WAZE app so if I really need that function I have it on the phone.

I'm sorry to hear you guys are having these issues on your new cars.

It's honestly one of the reasons I decided to pass on my incoming '22. I just didn't want to risk spending over $120k on a car that I may be having to take to the dealer for these types of repairs (BSM, water leaks, window trim issues, and now Infotainment). The nearest dealer to me is 2.5 hours away. I struggled with the decision, but every time one of you mentions another issue, it helps me realize I made the right choice for me.

Dwight, you likely missed several days in the shop - not just an overnight.
You are more pragmatic than I. When I buy a new car, I expect it to all work as intended.
As regards to buying a new 2022 with functions missing because of chip shortages, why would you spend $120K on a car missing basic safety functions?
They are not able to be retrofitted. It is a real show stopper for me. I figure I will keep my R-Dynamic a couple more years till thing sort out (hopefully).

no updates. My car is hibernating. Not driving on these sand and salt covered roads. Just moved to NH. Temp today was -5 F. Lol

like the other guy said, i can almost say for certain that it's a loose connection in the sensor. When I jiggle the driver side module, it works. The wire loom is crap on that side. Loosely wound bundles, etc. The pass side is tight and looks solid.

Hey good to hear from you! Don't blame you for not driving your car right now. I wouldn't be either!

I've decided to pass on my incoming '22. Been struggling with it for a bit and went back and forth a million times like a crazy person, but I just can't justify it right now. I lost a $5k deposit, but it is what it is. Considering another C7 while I wait for my Emira.

Enjoy your car when the weather warms up!!

CJSJAG, has your car thrown the ‘reverse traffic…’ error again since getting fixed? My FPACE just started throwing that error (in addition to the infotainment system not working) sporadically since my last (and final) service before it went out of warranty (of course, ugh). I took my car in and they don’t know what the problem is. I have an appointment scheduled for next week for a full diagnosis and they will apply for a “Goodwill exception” from Jaguar because it just went out of warranty. I never received this error prior to the last servicing. I think something happened to my car during the last service. I hope you can tell me how your car is currently operating and wether you;ve had this issue any more. Thanks in advance.

Hi CAJAGFPACE
Since the repair in January, no problem
After replacing both sensor units I believe they discovered a wiring / connection problem
The problem had been intermittent for months before it was finally fixed
Hope they treat you fairly
