Parking sensors
Hey, when I reverse and there is a car in front of me they parking aid beeps furiously and correctly shows that in front of me is a block, but why does this happened when I have reverse in gear and nothing is behind me? It's fairly annoying leaving a garage reversing when the parking aid beeps multiple times even though nothing is in the way of the reverse. Is there a setting for this, or can I just turn the whole thing off completely?
If you have park aid front and rear, it's supposed to do that. Its going to tell you whether your in reverse or in drive ( below certain speed ) if anything is around the vehicle. If there is nothing in front of the vehicle, but is showing that something is, then you may have a faulty sensor.
Usually on the new XF - you will get a message on the touch screen that says camera unavailable, please see your dealer.

You still need the front ones when you're in reverse as if you're turning then the front corner can still hit something while you reverse.
So they are all on at the same time to avoid any mistakes!

Correct! If you just drive up to an obstacle Parking Assist will not activate unless you select it with the button. Parking assist forward automatically engages if you go from R to D.
