No they were not standard. To see if you have it there will be 4 sensors in the rear black valence (above the exhausts below the main bumper) and also a reverse park ECU black box on the left hand side wall where the spare wheel is.Mine didnt have it so I upgraded to the Jag OEM spec one.

I found this kit on ebay I've seen a similar ad on their for a while don't have it though I have the stock one on mine...
http://cgi.ebay.com/Jaguar-S-Type-X-...QQcmdZViewItem

I love having the sensors I don't rely on them like some people but they are very nice and convenient to have!

Hi there X2 Jag,
I don't have rear park sensors at the mo, well, I have the kit behind me right now, just not fitted yet. Got it from Ebay for £140 all in, although you can buy another kit for about £80 I believe that just leaves the rear valance at about £30, then just needs fittting. Mine came with all instructions and looks really good.
I gotta say, I used to be all, bahhhh real drivers don't need all that stuff ( Cos I dint have it - lol) I now have it on my Saab 93 and it is fantastic, a really useful tool. As Aquill says though I do tend to use them mostly as a backup and don't only rely on them. Tested them more than once, and every time will get you to about 12" - 18" of where you need to be.
The only down side is now though that my next car must have rear park assist, cruise control, etc, etc...........the list just seems to grow n grow.......lol

Dont buy of that guy on ebay. When I was upgrading I bought a reverse park module box off him which he told me was suitable for my car. After waitng 6 weeks to get the thing (after threatening him) it eventaully arrived but wouldnt fit into the place in the spare wheel well.Later found out that there are 2 different reverse modules with 2 different fitments..1 has 26 pins 2001-2003 and the other has 40 pins (2004-) if I remember.Tried for months to get a 2nd hand one but breakers only want to sell as a complete kit when I already had the Jag rear valence with Jag sensors and wiring, bleeper off ebay £3.99.
THE OTHER THING WITH THAT KIT OFF EBAY IS THAT THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE IN CHINESE PIGEON ENGLISH, and the sensors are designed to be fitted above 300mm from the ground to avoid false alerts. The Jag valence is below 300mm.BE WARY OF THAT SELLER.HE ALSO WONT LEAVE POSITIVE FEEDBACK UNTIL AFTER YOU HAVE LEFT IT FOR HIM!

Must be the other guy Buck......lol
The one I bought was £140 for the kit, including the rear valance, sensors, wiring, bleeper unit etc and the instructions, far from being in Pidgeon Chinese are clear and concise English. There is a pdf document that he mails you which is the quick guide if you like. Included in the pack is also a 17 page users guide / installation manual. I have not as yet had it fitted, but I will let you know how it goes.
I am wondering if you mean the kit - as in £80 for sensors, bleeper, wiring etc and you buy the valance separately, or the alternative which is I think around £110 complete. I saw that one too, but it just didn't look right somehow!

Anyways - will let you know how we go

£140..sounds like the Adamesh kit.Ionce supplied him with the rear Jag valences with cut outs so he could make uphis kits. But the sensors on his kit unless he has got better ones now were the same as the sensors on a kit I first bought that gave false alerts as they were designed to go in the bumper above 350mm from the ground. The X type rear valence is below this height so could give false alerts with pavements etc.
This is why I went with proper Jag spec stuff and it all cost under £140 for evennew Jag stuff after enough looking around.
