Default right flap on the exhaust only opens 50%

Hello everyone,

can it damage the engine if the right flap on the exhaust only opens 50% due to a technical defect?
So not so good under full load, right? The flap jams and is difficult, the spring does not push the flap
completely open, I think only about 50-75%. What do you think?

Thank you so much
Andi

No, it will not damage the engine. Assuming that the vacuum line and connection is intact (if your model year has this), the the issue might be a simple one of lubrication of the operating mechanism at the flap.

yes, the issue is a simple one of lubrication of the operating mechanism at the flap.
The flaps also squeak, and the right one runs much harder. Have already tried to attach high-heat lubricant
there in the inner tube. Not easy but possible. Have to try that again. The spring force just isn't quite enough to push the flap open to 100%.

I had a similar problem with one flap jammed completely open. You have to keep (gently) working at it to free it up.
