Well it made 610bhp on the final run (3 made 3rd after a 5min cool down), it was 24c in the dyno cell 28c outside and the operator reckons on at least another 10bhp on a cooler day so pretty happy with that, oh and 560 lbft of torque

What numbers did it make at the wheels? Which brand of dyno?

Thanks Tim. For all those UK owners, David Appleby Engineering is our UK Dealer, they have pulleys, 2WD Downpipes in stock and are centrally located near Banbury for easy access.

Tim's results are pretty typical, and can be achieved on any V8 F-Type, regardless of starting spec.

Stuart,
Would I be correct in saying that the tune alone, on my R, should bring around 600-610 h.p... at the crank?

I believe their dyno results were around 605. Of course there will be some variation from car to car and different dynos give different results. The difference is what is important.

Yes, OK and thanks.. my impression was that he hit the h.p. figure without a pulley and was wondering if I was correct in my assumption.

The R is plenty fast as it is, however I am toying with the thought of a tune at some point to spice it up a bit more.
Lawrence.

Hi Lawrence,

Yes that's a realistic within which to see the results fall. There's always a bit of variation from one test to the next but we saw a pretty consistent 42WHP gain, which is about 55BHP at the crank.

For Timbo's car, I'm not sure what the 'before' figure was so we don't have an accurate delta, but if I know he had an existing tune on the car, and if I recall he was struggling to make much more than 550BHP on that tune.

The cats do make a little power, so if his dyno operator's assessment that there might be another 10BHP there with temperature, that would put the output up around 620BHP with cats, which would be consistent with our 605BHP on tune alone.

The best i got on my std car before it went into limp home mode was 530 we dont know why but it never did again on further visits to the same rolling road.
I then had a map from viezu and smaller pulley put on and it only made 575, the fueling was all over the place from 5500rpm
I then had another map from gad tuning put on and it made 580 but again fueling all over the place at the top end so it wasnt making power after about 5500.
Both companys reckon it was heat soak hence the car dumping fuel at the top end but i didnt believe that.
I then got in touch with Stuart from Velocity who put me in touch with David Appleby and the rest is history, so basically ive made an extra 80-90 bhp
All runs done on the same rolling road, so apart from heat everything was as accurate as can be.
Oh and funnily enough on one of our hottest days of the year we didnt get any heat soak, the car pulled all the way to the red line and fueling was perfect.

Awesome stuff, so the only thing left to do is change your signature Tim

So if your baseline run was 530BHP which is a little lower than 550BHP stated output, your total gain with pulley, VelocityAP Tune and VelocityAP Sport cats was 80BHP, maybe 90BHP on a cooler day. So if your dyno just reads a little low and the car did make 550BHP stock, you're now around 630-640BHP, which is right around where we'd expect it to finish up. Great stuff!
