Default Safety Recall Notice Jaguar F Type 2014-2015

Anyone get this?

Safety Recall J047 ( SEATBELT TENSION SENSOR CONNECTOR WIRING )

The seatbelt assembly harness connector which connects the Seatbelt Tension Sensor to the Occupant Classification Sensor Control Module (OCSCM) may not be correctly wired.

They say it is expected to take approx. 30 min.

Yes, I received it yesterday. It's to correct a possible issue where the sensor which enables and disables the passenger-side airbag won't detect a small person or child safety seat in the passenger seat, and thus it won't deploy in an accident. The weird thing about this one is that previous guidance was that it was dangerous for airbags to deploy on small children or infants.

At any rate, no rush for me on this one, since there are no small kids to ride in my car.

I hope they fix mine while it is at the port or during dealer prep since it has been at the arrival port 5 days.

I got mine (recall notice). The question remains, when will you get yours? (And I think you know what I mean). Loverembrandt?

My next choice would be Van Gogh but look what happened to him. My dealer seems determined to make me wait until the original ETA and in no hurry to deliver the car. I am sure in their mind as long as they get it out the door before year end that is all that matters.

But we're still talking [Post] Impressionist, and you still don't have your car. It's a shame that you can't get answers or proper customer service! I might expect that from a lesser brand but from Jaguar?

You'll never get a recall about a sound system, unless it somehow is linked to electrical fires. They are only issued for safety reasons.

I suppose a case could be made that the premium Meridian system seems to be driving some people insane, and that could be interpreted as safety hazard.

Unless they are MY kids, then I'd love to see them jettisoned James Bond style

(Kiddin' of course!)

This is indeed disappointing. When I ordered my wife's 2009 MINI, they gave us special login credentials to their logistics tracker and we could actually track the progress (with map display) of the vehicle through the assembly line, through the ports and on the ocean. The communication system, however, exhibited a blind spot once it got into port at the prep facility. Even the dealer had no access to information. The prep facility is hit with a surge of vehicles that they need to inspect, repair transportation damage, and add options that are specific to the US market (at least this is what BMW was doing). Since there can be over a thousand cars of the same marque on a vessel, it can take 1-4 weeks for a given car to clear port based on its position in the queue. That said, it is tortuous having to be patient. I've got to wait until early summer for that third pedal.

When I picked up my Jag in December I asked the dealer to make sure all of the safety recalls were performed. He said they were but I just noticed that a lot of the times when my girlfriend is in the car the "passenger airbag not enabled" light is on. Doesn't happen every time, so I'm guessing I still need this done. No letter yet.
