Seat covers ? 2016 sport seats
Any recommendations on set of covers that would soften the experience ?
The sport seats are lumpy and hard.
Lookin for neoprene.
Thanks,
Jim

not an answer, but how many miles on the car? Mine (performance seats) softened up a lot by about 5000km, fantastically comfortable even on 21's. I did put a lot of softener on to them when the car was new, though I think in reality I was just rubbing it on and wiping it off as I dont think it penetrates past the coating, maybe the rubbing softened them.
The car has 35,000 miles. I have been using a penetrating leather conditioner.
I haven’t seen a cover for the sport seats.
I may try to modify a neoprene cover for the basic seat.
It looks like the bottoms are close but the top portion of the backs of the sport seats are quite different.
There are a couple of companies that sell for the basic seat.
I will give them a call this week to see what they have to say.
Love the car but I have to do something about the seats.
The comfort can’t compete with the seats in my 88 M6

Coz the basic seat IS the "sports" seat and the optional upgrade (standard on the R) is the Performance seat.
You have a base model which came standard with the base/sports seats and although it could be optioned with the Performance seats hardly anyone did so, so it is highly likely you have the base/sports seats.
Here's a pic of some Performance seats:

I guess I have the performance seat.
Or better known as the lumpy and hard seats.

I find harder seats are much more comfortable for long drives - I first noticed this with the Recaros in my Cavalier SRi way back when. "Comfortable" seats are great in the showroom - not so much after an hour's drive.
Firmer seats are indeed what you need for longer drives and for spirited driving.
Agreed, though the centre seams in those seats were murder on my spine for a fair while, until either they softened up or I toughened up.
Now the seats are sublime, and the comfort is something that passengers pretty much always comment on.

When I got the car, the driver's seat seems tough. Took it to a car upholstery shop. They were able to replace the padding in the seat without mucking up the seat's functions/heating whatsoever. Got a chance to do a good vacuuming. Took two very burly, experienced interior people to lift it out (heavy and awkward)....not something they recommended doing solo (back injury or interior scraping).
Perfect now. 50 dollars total cost, ymmv. Car interior people are guru on this sort of thing....contact a good one in your area and see if they can help you.

Thanks everyone,
I ordered a set of neoprene covers from a company out of TX (navy blue with white piping).
I sent them pics of the performance seats.
They assured me that they would fix.
I’ll let you know how it works out.
