Default Seat Heaters

Winter has finally arrived in the People's Republik. The steering wheel heat is glorious, the seat heaters no so. Previous cars I've owned the seats get nice and toasty. These don't even on high. I suspect that there is something amiss, but before I take it in I wanted to verify with the group. Assuming that they aren't working can someone tell me where the fuse is? I'd hate to drive 1+ hour to the dealer only to have them replace the fuse - something that I can easily do myself.

Something's wrong. On #1 setting, my seat is almost too warm for me, but my wife cranks it all the way to #3 (same as on our MINIs). Believe me, if the heaters are working you'll feel them. Same problem on the passenger seat?

Well known fact, women are cold blooded creatures.

I agree with the assessment that something is probably warm. My seat heaters are more than capable. In fact, a bit too capable as anything above the first setting feels like slowly boiling to me.

Curiously, I kinda feel the same way (so I too am now wondering). My wife's BMW gets beautifully hot at any setting and I don't nearly feel the same way in the F-Type. Hot laps, yes, hot seat, no.

What are people wearing? A winter coat doesn't just insulate you from the cold.

Mine are hotter than any others I've ever had. They settle once they reach the set temperature, but on the way there, they put out some serious heat.

I believe my dealer installed a software patch that modified the way mine operate. Before, the lowest setting was plenty hot. After, it wasn't so hot, so I might use the 2nd setting.

Me and my wife are exactly the same. 1 is too hot for me after about 5-10 mins and i have to shut it off., but she has it on 3 the entire time we're in the car.

My wife is the same way. She wants to be able to fry an egg on the seat.

The best thing to do is to see if you have another F-Type owner near you. Meet up and try out the seat heater in the other car for comparison (or at a dealer if they have some F-Types on their lot). What is not hot to you, may be hot to others so comparing stories on the internet isn't going to get you very far...

My seat heaters are the "hottest" of any car I have owned including Porsche and BMW. When I first start the car I have the setting on high and then quickly decrease to the lowest level.

So there must be something wrong with mine. My daughter's Corolla will cook your *** in a matter of minutes, same with my wife's C63.

Thanks for the help

There are studies that show that seat heaters lower your sperm count. I don't want anything cooking my boys anyway!
