Went in for second annual service. Again they had to reprogram for service interval notification. There was a red vert SVR being prepped in the shop. I took some pictures. No ceramic brakes. This is optional on the SVR. Service manager said this is the poor mans SVR, $130K. Before I drove to the dealer, my tires were all at 37 psi. When I picked up the car, I was told there was an irreparable nail puncture in my rear left tire. I will have to pull the wheel to check it. So my free service might cost me $260 for a tire.

 

If not tracking poor mans SVR would do just fine!

 

pretty much anybody who tracks would convert ceramics to steel, the cost for tracking would be insane....

 

Who would pic a vert for track? This is a cruiser. And a nice one at that.

I am not impressed by the service manager referring to someone buying an SVR without ceramics as a 'poor man.'

I expect more politeness from someone who cannot afford the poor man's SVR.

 

That's not far enough to the edge for me to abandon that tire (but then I'm unhingd). An internal patch on that would be perfectly safe south of 120mph.

 

I've been known to exceed that on occasion on Hwy 5 and 80. But no place will repair it and I wouldn't trust my repair kit for a permanent repair.

 

Understood. I've been plugging & patching (usually both) tires for years and have never had issues. But then again, not much opportunity to safely get well into triple digits here in the Mid-Atlantic with all the traffic.

 

Same problem in Vegas, no one will fix this type of puncture.

 

Since F-type was designed as convertible, it has plenty body rigidity to handle track use.

 

Neither the dealer or America's Tire had the P Zero 275/35 19 but Tire Rack came through.
Ordered it Friday PM and it came Sat PM. Great service. It gets mounted Monday and I'm back on the road. Meanwhile, Bucky is jacked up in the garage.
