Default shipping a car

Good morning all,

I need to ship a F type from Florida to Ny in covered transport. I think most all shipping companies are brokers. I see that BAT auctions offers this service now. Can anyone make a recommendation?

Thanks.

Its tough to know what kind of service you will get with a broker.

I was satisfied with Horseless Carriage years ago
https://www.horselesscarriage.com/
but I see that they get 3 stars these days.

Perhaps a member here will volunteer to drive that new F from FL to NY if you pay expenses and airfare?

I struck out with Reliable Carriers, they are a carrier not a broker, as in they own the trucks. They do Barrett Jackson. They don't have delivery to my area for at least 8 weeks. I wanted to get film on the car before driving, especially that distance. Need to keep looking.

Make sure you get total exterior photos and have driver identify any defects to dealer before loading.
That way you will know who is responsible.
My delivery guy did a very through job and identified minor paint marks that I might not have even noticed for weeks.
It was scheduled within days and delivered quickly from S. Carolina to Massachusetts ($1,200) with 3 cars in a hard side covered trailer.
Your biggest issue dealing with brokers is that they NEVER let go. I was still getting calls months after my car was delivered.

Sorry, do not have his contact info, but have contacted my dealer to try to get info.
Will follow up if you PM me.

Default Contact this company .....

They are located 20 minutes away from NYC. Very well known and long established transport company. They are always bringing Ferraris and Lamborghinis up from Florida to the Hamptons section of Long Island. At the end of the summer they're doing the opposite bringing the same cars back to Florida.

One added note: While taking lots of pictures at pick-up, be sure to thoroughly capture any area noted by the driver. His little circle on a car diagram with a notation of a blemish can cover a lot of ground towards what shows up on the other end. It helps to have a clear baseline documented of the damage that WASN'T there. I've shipped several cars, including a few cross country, and avoid any debates by taking a 100 or so pictures before and after the car was loaded.

I was going to use SGT Auto Transport but instead found my girlfriend's son's co-worker who decided to rent her Jeep Cherokee for a couple of months for us, last winter. They had great reviews. Door to door service. But again I didn't get to use them. DC to Miami.

I shipped FType from FL to CA, no probs. The selling dealer chose the shipper, and all arrived as expected. It was like a carnival as it rolled off the fwy exit, lotsa lights on the trailer! No damage at all.

Later, shipped that same vehicle to new owner, again no issues.

Good luck,
Doc
