I'd say out of warranty resale value tells the true story of cost of ownership. Lots of mint out of warranty Porsches under $10K. BMW is worse. Merc is worse still. These cars can be summed up as CRAP. Mine sure is.

Sound advice from our resident expert. See the "throttle remap" for references.

Why is your F-Type crap & if it's crap, why do you still have it?

I love my F-Type. I said my BMW was CRAP. You don't read.

That said, out of warranty F-Type resale is awfully low, but I paid so little for a 15K car and purposely bought a 2016 5Y/60K so there is so much Jag warranty left I'm not too concerned. Plus I do 90% of my own work, time permitting.

And that said, the OP is clearly looking for performance based on his comps. I would not consider the F-Type V6S or R very satisfying cars from the performance angle--but they sure SOUND satisfying. My lightly tuned 420hp/420tq BMW 135i is at least 2x stronger than the R I had for a weekend. Turbo vs supercharger makes all the difference. People who don't understand airplanes think they are the same, as they came of age primarily for airplanes, but high performance piston-driven airplanes all have constant speed props. Cars don't, so a modern turbo like my 135i (best BMW ever in tuning potential which is why I bought it) just crushes a similar supercharged solution. Turbos can spin up quickly independently of a belt and supply full torque very early in RPM band, around 420 ft lbs @ 1500 RPM for mine, if memory serves. Another issue is no double clutch. The R was so weak compared to what I am used too, I just bought the V6S for the same comfort, sound and styling.

Wow....2 times stronger. Who knew.

And I didn't realize turbos produce more boost at low RPM. That would explain all the discussion about turbo lag (Opps I mean supercharger lag) in the automotive literature....

I was gonna say 3x but I knew that people here are so thoroughly confused about what HP means, it would be a hopeless exercise. Yes, a modern turbo delivers full torque around 1500 RPM. Hence, the quotes around "750 hp" below, I love it.

Oh, 3 times stronger. That would suggest to me at least 3 seconds (probably more to feel 3 times stronger) quicker in the quarter mile, so I guess your 420HP/420tq lightly tuned beast runs in the 8 seconds?

Instead of turbo vs. supercharger, maybe its the pedal amplifier that puts you in the 8 second range...

Strange, the advertising website for your N55 Pure Stage 2 shows torque is, um, shall we say no where near what you are claiming? Or did, um, you mean to say 4500 RPM?

Please go study up and read a lot more about cars before doing any additional posting. Its embarrassing for you, whether you realize it or not.

It's crap because he installed a gadget that slows his car down.

You didn't read; his pedal gadget made up for all the torque missing from there. The stage 2 tune is just snakeoil.
