Default Jaguar Wheels

apologies if this has been answered before, but does anyone know who manufactures wheels for Jaguar? I’m trying to get some info on my Tornado wheels and can’t seem to find who manufactured them.

Any help would be appreciated!

thanks!

From memory I think most are made in India, but I don't know about the Tornado wheels.

I think they come from all over Europe. My XKR had Nevis wheels from Italy, and my f-type are from Germany.

The Gyrodynes are made by Ronal in Poland.

I believe all SVR wheels are manufactured in Taiwan by SAI (Forged) company.

Thanks, everyone - very helpful! As it turns out, the Tornados are Ronal forged wheels.

I’m having a debate with my insurance company about the wheels - I’ll spare everyone the details, but my car got towed by a freaking wrecker - not a flatbed. Had the front wheels on the ground while the rear wheels were up in the air being held by chains. I’m sure you all can imagine what chains do to wheels when the entire weight of the car is being held by those chains. Needless to say, I’ve got cracks in the wheels and a significant amount of cosmetic damage, and my insurance company wants to have them repaired rather than replaced, which I’m fighting.

Its amazing how much damage can happen from something as stupid as this towing situation. My steering wheel, for example, was tied off with a nylon strap that ended up separating the leather from the steering wheel. All told, I’ve got roughly $11k in damage from this ridiculous incident.

thank you - I really appreciate it! It’s been very frustrating to say the least. And, of course, auto insurance companies do their best to cheap out as much as possible. I’ve been very disappointed with USAA on how they’ve handled this claim. The most frustrating part is all the small nicks and scratches that happened as a result if this - I really don’t want to do any paintwork on the car, but it’s probably unavoidable. This particular flavor of British Racing Green will more than likely be difficult to match properly. My car was pristine prior to the incident and now it’s looking well used. The tow truck driver even went so far as to break into my car to disable the steering wheel and that did a number on the driver door both inside and out. Frustrating!

Crucial to know that you do not have to bargain with the insurance company (who have spent your money on adverts and football stadiums) an attorney friend taught me.
The best leverage you have is to tell them you will send them the bill. Works better than you can imagine because it will cost them more.

For instance: my SUV was hit and had to be in the shop for 2 weeks. The other guys insurance company offered me $27 a day to rent a car. And they were strong-arming me, using tactics like if you did not have your lights on in the daytime we can argue that it was your fault. In panic I asked my best friend. He advised tell them you will send them the bill for the rental and hang up on them- dont bargain. I did. They were begging me to use their account and get any car I wanted at Enterprise. I did not, I got an SUV like mine for $170 per day and they paid the bill.

Go to the dealership and ask them to write you up on the wheels and everything else that was lost- dont leave anything out. Send it to them, tell them that you cannot wait or you will have to go get a rental car (important- because its not safe to drive your car seriously) they have a singular job, to limit how much of your money they have to pay out. Watch it will work like a charm- because you are on the right side of the law.

Go to jaguar approved shop and let them fight with insurance company. They can match paint etc. and it won't hurt you if you trade back to a Jag dealer. Why isn't towing company involved with paying this? Finally why did you not insist on flatbed?

Q&C is on the right track. My wife was an insurance claims agent and an underwriter. If your wheels are cracked, do not accept repair/repaint. Also, not sure why your car was towed. Since owning jags, I flatbed only and insist. Hope all goes well.

Also, why is your insurance company not either not making you whole and subrogating to tow companies insurance carrier or just having tow company foot the bill? In New York you can have your car repaired at shop of your choice. Not sure how it works in your state.

I am not an expert on insurance or legal matters, that said my opinion would be that if the damage was caused during vehicle recovery as you report then I would have thought that that damage was due to negligence on the part of the recovery company .

Either the recovery company insurance pays for replacement parts, particularly when a repair to a cracked wheel may well be dangerous or your insurance pays for the same replacement and recovers their costs from the vehicle recovery company's insurance

Unless the car was towed as part of an enforcement activity (parking violation). Local rules may hold towing operators harmless in such circumstance. I've never seen parking enforcement come to the scene with a flat-tow.

Tornados are not forged.
They are cast and fairly heavy wheels.
