Smart Key Not Recognized
Long story short, the battery was dead on my fob. The interesting part is the car did not display the smart key low battery warning. It just started to not recognize the smart key more frequently, which I chalked up to not driving much during the whole lockdown.
If I got it the car for the first time in a couple of days, It would display Smart Key not Recognized. For the rest of the day, it would be fine. Last night, finally, I could not unlock the car. I had to get the hard key out of the fob, unlock the car manually and then turn off the alarm. A new battery today seems to have solved the issue.

devmen, It's good to hear I'm not the only one. I've found other things in the manual that just don't happen the way they say they should.
I guess I should proactively replace the other key battery, too.

Mine lasted just a little over 4 years. I would recommend to those who are in that 4-5 year age of ownership to go ahead and replace your fob batteries.

Was that box standard with all new F-Type. I bought mine as a CPO and never even saw that box.

From what I've heard, it's hit and miss. Some dealers do it, others don't. It's usually reserved for new cars, but we had a two car deal going (SO bought a Velar the same day), so I had a little more bargaining power.
All I got was a 3oz bottle of Jag upholstery Cleaner with my new car. Great stuff, though.
Would have preferred that gorgeous box though.
