Well good thing I decided on Malibu canyons. This is the exact road I was originally considering...which is now on fire. You can see the area in the original post to this thread.

Suggest you have some options on alternate drives. Never know where the next fire will be.

Hey all, here is the starting location. Since the group is pretty small we will just do a quick meet and greet before heading out. It is the edge of the Costco parking lot in Marina del Rey on Washington Blvd. There is a Starbucks right there as well.

Meeting time: 8:30am Saturday morning
--address: 13463 W Washington Blvd, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292
Take off: 9am
Destination: Neptune Nets on PCH in Malibu ~noon
Distance: ~75 miles
Drive Time: 2 1/2 hours

We will depart up PCH until we first turn into the canyons. The spirited drive will take us through a number of canyons in the Santa Monica mountains behind Malibu. There will be two stops along the way, possible third if no one is at the top of Saddle Peak. One road will be a big surprise for those that aren't familiar with these canyons. It is always the most talked about part.

There are no fuel stops along the drive so please arrive with some fuel in the tank. There are plenty on the way back.
Double check the air in your tires, good tread, good brake pads.
Bring water.
Bring cameras!!

I'll run two gopros so we can switch the order of the pack a few times to get more people in the shot.

Starting location:
COSTCO: 13463 W Washington Blvd, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292

My F Type is still down. I don't know if I want to show up in my wimpy XF loaner. I don't have any company F Types available for me to take. =(

That sucks WhiteTardis. I understand the dilemma. You are still more than welcome to join. Biernut might also be there with an XF courtesy vehicle.

Not sure if you guys with XF loaners have already done this or not but ask your dealer if they have an F-Type loaner they can give you for the drive. I noticed the dealer I use in Sacramento has several service loaner F-Types amongst the XF’s and yours may as well. Just a suggestion for what it is worth.

That would have been awesome, and I did ask.

My service department's "courtesy vehicles" are XF's rented by an Enterprise Rental Car located on the property. Just as with any car rental, they charge a deposit on your credit card, charge you for gas, and all the cars are 10k miles past due for service and barely run.

Coming from the Lexus dealer/service experience, I am not impressed.

I won't show up in the XF.

I'm out of town on business, returning Friday evening. I can pick my car up as I'm just waiting for parts to come in, and I am able to drive it (just sounds terrible).

However, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to make it in time to pick it up from the service department Friday evening. I'll post here on Friday evening whether I will be able to attend. Crossing my fingers, as I've really been looking forward to a meet-up with everyone.

If I can't pick up my car on Friday, I'm planning to attend the first new Cars & Coffee at the O.C. Fairground on Saturday morning. Bring the XF there, we can have a mini meet-up.

I'll be in the black CLK 63 Black Series if I attend, come say hi!

I guess I have been lucky because the dealer I use for service has their own loaners and Enterprise cars as well. The two times I have been in for service I received their loaners which were brand new, very nice and did not require a deposit. I even returned the first loaner with the fuel gauge on E because I could not refuel, fight traffic and get to the dealership before they closed. I offered to pay the dealership for a full tank of gas and they refused the money. Too bad all Jaguar dealers cannot offer this level of service. Sorry for the brief hijack on this thread!

Most JLR stores don't do nearly the service volumes that a BMW, Lexus or Mercedes stores will do so to put new inventory into loaner usage on their part won't make sense. XF's are currently are in very tight supply with anticipation of the new body 2016 XF coming out soon.

My dealer has no Jaguars in the loaner fleet. They're all Land Rovers, which I suppose makes sense, because the GM said they sell 15 LRs for every Jag. Recently, they've only had 1-2 F-Types in inventory and only 10 new Jaguars on the lot. However, it's chocked full of LR inventory.

**UPDATE**

I have a company 2015 Polaris White R Coupe that is available for me to use on the weekend. I'll be in that.
