Default Sound coming from tires ? Or something in the rear f type

I sorted noticing an abnormal sound while from the left rear. But it could potentially be just rear in general. Best I can describe the sound as is if there is some sort imbalance or loose tire sound. Like waaapp waaaapaa idk.

I assumed it was cuz my tire tread was gone, so I replaced them 3 weeks ago the sound still persists. I put on the conti dw6 plus.

I'm at jaguar to get diagnosed. Any idea what this could be ?

I haven't noticed anything different in the drive.

2015 jaguar f type s

Update
its a rotational sound in the rear

It could be rear diff. Maybe needs oil change ? I hope it's not bearing or rear diff needing to be changed..

Lavitz,
Do you have the ability to jack your F-Type up and remove the rear tires?
Then you could do a basic inspection of the components in your rear end.
Yes, the rear diff oil can be changed. You have a V6 S model? So would need the Jaguar Castro BOT 720 Oil (search the forums for the limited slip oil.. about 0.8 liters)
I would suggest looking for branches or other foreign material wrapped around your drive shaft, or a worn brake pad… or a loose suspension arm.
good luck,
Herman

Got the diagnostic from jaguar. Yes it's the v6. Prices are cdn.

. Just to let you know, we have an answer on the noise coming from the rear right tire. The technician does also have some other findings. I have listed them below in order of importance + the estimates listed.

1) Rotational noise coming from rear right wheel bearing. Will need to replace the rear right wheel bearing to fix noise = $1318.72 + taxes

2) Front brake pads under 2mm remaining, considered a safety concern. Recommended for replacement of pads + rotors for the fronts = $2268.00 + taxes

3) Battery low, recommended for battery replacement = $656.89 + taxes.

Please let us know how you would like us to carry forwards sir. The wheel bearing will take until about Tuesday - Wednesday to arrive as we will need to ship it in from Toronto. If you would like to pick up first and come back for the repair, we would need payment for the repair first prior to ordering.

Jag doesn’t sell the wheel bearings separately, so presumably, you were quoted replacing the whole hub. I just paid $840 to an indy to have a front hub on my XE replaced.

You would be correct, so it's this part.

Definitely get the wheel bearing replaced promptly - it's not something you'd want to have fail.

You don't say anything about mileage or whether the brakes have been done in the past, but I wouldn't have the dealer do the work. They'll insist on replacing rotors at the same time as pads (as you heard), and there's a good chance you don't need them. Rotors are most of the cost. For about $300, you could get Porterfield R4-S pads for all four wheels. Put them on yourself (see the sticky How-To thread), or use an independent shop, or even a good tire store. Labor would be more/less the same as the pads.

You didn't give any indication of the age of the battery or report any symptoms, so I'm suspect of the dealer spontaneously recommending a new one. Still, many of us would support being proactive in having a fresh battery - just not tune of $650. (I got my last one from Costco, ~$200). It's easy enough to replace yourself - you'll just need to reset the windows. (See How To) If you prefer, most auto parts stores will replace a battery for little, if any, charge.

All that should save you a couple of grand.

@Lavitz The wheel hub part that you linked to .. appears to be just the hub with wheel lugs, and does not include the axle bearing.
See part #1 in the below graphic.
The axle bearing is part #2 in the below graphic, but this part is no longer offered through on-line jaguar part distributors.
So I would remove the old part from your car, grab any markings or dimensions from it, and then determine a replacement part based on traditional bearing suppliers.

Understand that all Jaguar parts are selected using the last 6 digits of your VIN. You did not post this so what follows is a guess?
Using the wonderful JPART I find two part numbers depending on your VIN.

Up too VIN K10050 I find Part #C2P12624.
Available here for under $40 from Berkshire Jag Components. I have never used them so can't say more than they do have a listing and it says in stock?
Rear Wheel Bearing

Here is a link with alternative part numbers too. Note again it states front but these bearings might fit in many places. Again about 30 GBP
Do check what I have posted because that listing indicates an XF and NOT an F-Type BUT they might very well be the same?

Wheel Bearing

If your car is after VIN K10051 then the part number is listed as T2R13835. BUT I think you "might" be in luck? These part numbers have both been superseded and both now are replaced with C2D58913. This is the part number I believe is the current and correct one. So no need for your VIN on this part!

I also find the LR part number to be LR024508. If you want to go thru LR instead.

That part number is current and available at any Jaguar dealer? Now the price seems to have increased a bunch ( $140) so maybe do more shopping before purchasing this? I find this part number everywhere and all are in the $140 range. EBay has Chinese versions for about $60 and again I can't say if they are any good or not but it is just a wheel bearing so nothing very complicated?
