I'll get mine delivered on Tuesday. When I ordered them we never spoke about finish, either way silver or black will match the car.

+1. And you have to get your face within a foot or two of the wheel. I didn't even know you could see them until this thread prompted me to look real hard. If the anodized spacers cost more, I wouldn't waste the money.

For those of you that have installed the spacers I have a question for you. When I bought the car last summer I had PPF installed on the entire front end and then entire car covered in OptiCoat Pro+. When I was de-winterizing my car yesterday I noticed a small chip in the rocker panel just above the factory PPF patch. It's very small but it's there regardless. I then decided maybe it was a good idea to get the rocker panel & side skirt PPF kit installed. In order to do so I have to first remove the OptiCoat so the PPF will stick. So I pulled out a work light and did some waxing to wear down the OptiCoat. In the process (with a 1,500 lumen light a foot away from the car) I noticed quite a few more tiny knicks in the paint above the side skirts but below the door. Keep in mind I only have 2,300 miles and I'm very careful where I drive and about keeping my distance from cars on the road.

So my question is have those with spacers & no PPF noticed more debris kicking up towards the door and rear fender... more chipping? Will bringing out the wheels 15mm (approx. 5/8") cause more damage to the doors/rear fenders?

Thanks for the input!

1. Yes, the spacer are causing a lot of gravel impact on the rockers below the door line back to the rear wheel.

2. No need to remove the Opticoat before the film goes on, but you will need to get those areas paint corrected, My entire car was cQuartzed before the ppf was installed. There is a lot of controversy on this matter that you can find discussed on another thread, but I can assure you that the film will not strip away from the coating at speeds exceeding 135 mph.

I wonder if going 10mm might make more sense for me then if my concern is about paint chipping. Would I just have to cut away more of the studs?

I don't think the 10mm will have studs attached to them.

Correct, you will need to install longer studs (by 10mm) on the hubs.

Would 12mm spacers work or would I also need to install new studs as well?

Any damage to your doors or rear fenders?

How do spacers (or custom rims with a non factory offset) effect balance of the car, alignment, and handling?

I've never had a problem with spacers with the alignment on previous cars and wouldn't think there would be a problem with this.

Changes to center of gravity, alignment and handling are all de minimis.

Here's how mine came today.

Default 5mm or 10mm photos?

Me and my wife own a convertible F-type which she mostly drives. I'd like to make the car look a bit more aggressive by ordering 20" custom wheels with a custom ET offset to push the wheels out a bit.

But since my wife is the main driver I don't want to make the car look too "butch" and embarrass her. From what I saw 15mm is too much.

So would 5mm or 10mm be a good compromise? Would such wheels satisfy me while still keep the car look relatively civilised for a lady to drive?

Are there any pictures of F-types on stock suspension with 5mm or 10mm spacers so I can decide which custom offset to order or keep the stock offset?

Not sure what “butch” looks like on an F-Type but I liked the way mine was on stock suspension and 15mm spacers with the Gyrodynes.

I used 15mm spacers all around and improved the stance quite a bit IMO.

My worry is that with the stock suspension (don't want to lower it) 15mm will make the car look like an SUV on stock suspension as I've seen on some pictures.

You'll still have a gap with the stock suspension height, but the 15mm spacers did not push my tires out past the fenders.
