True. I've never had seats as comfy as my old s60R. I'd miss it more if it wasnt for the 13 metre turning circle and rampant understeer.

I am 6'2" no worries with performance seats for me I find them pretty comfortable. Not as good as my Landrover for very long trips but then I haven't found anything else as comfortable in any car.

I'm 6'1, and big frame and not the thinest. The seats are not soft by any means. I like the support they provide, but they are not Landrover comfortable. They are more supportive than my '11 XF, which were not good. I've only been in the car for 90 minutes though, so longer trips may yield different issues. The lumbar support and side bolster adjustment is very good.

Just did a 5 hour drive with the Performance Seats (I'm 6 ft). I had major back surgery in 2008, and it was only to make things better (as they couldn't make me pain free). I had no problems with the seats. In fact, the seats with their adjustability fit really well. With some cars, I need to use a small towel rolled up at my lower back but I don't need anything extra for the F-Type.

What is uncomfortable for me is the resting arm positions. Depending on the leg and arm length, you might have a difficult time finding a way to rest your arms when driving.

OK, next question (I just went and sat in the performance seats and they are quite lovely). I was pretty surprised when I saw how small the trunk area is in these. I am used to the XKR which is pretty useful. Of course, having the spare tyre sitting in there doesnt help. Do you take the spare out?

I have to say I havent changed a tyre in nearly 30 years so I am quite ready to abandon a spare in favour of a can of finileak or whatever it is called now, but what do you owners do?

In the convertible there is no way to practically leave the tyre in. I was reluctant at first but when I realized that even if you could change the tyre there is nowhere to put the wheel you take off if you have a passenger anyway. The car comes with a compressor and sealant and here at least, the roadside service includes bringing you a wheel and taking away the wheel with the puncture and tpreturning it to you repaired. It becomes a no brainer really.

My 2002 MINI never had a spare, but it originally came with run-flats which I immediately replace with more functional tires. Just replace your spare and jack with a cell phone and AAA card (one of your auto clubs will offer roadside assistance as well). You don't want to be changing a tire along a busy motorway anyway.

My last 4 cars have not come with a spare of any sort, run flats or a pump and goo. Along with many others, I do not like run flats, noisy and harsh. Seems like global warming, loss of the ozone layer, and genetically modified food have killed spare tires and naturally aspirated engines.

How did this thread go from seats to spare tyres?

Yes, I got good answers on the seats then rather than starting a new thread on the spare tyre (which I only saw yesterday) I tacked it on. Happy with the answers on that as well.

Speaking of, anyone tried emergency kit? I took mine out, am I wrong in assuming it is useless?

It'll work if the hole isn't too big. It's only a temporary fix. You'll need to get the tire properly plugged as soon as possible.

2016s come with 5 years of roadside assisantce, just push the button (under the small hinged flap) to left of your mirror for service (one to right sends emergency personal). I don't want to jinx myself by saying when the last flat tire I had was. Don't know if this applies to non USA cars.
