Default Squeaky Seats

Greetings all,

Does anyone have squeaky seats? I’m 6’1” so I move my seats all the way back and I believe the seats are rubbing against the rear bulkhead. Anyone had this problem and know of a more elegant solution than stuffing a towel behind the seat or something? Thanks as always.

I make sure mine aren't just against the rear bulkhead but *really* against it by setting the recline first and then motoring the seat base back until the seat back is pressed firmly against the bulkhead. If that's not how you want to do it, a bit of self-adhesive felt from the craft store applied to the contact point will stop the squeak.

I’ll take a look at the adhesive. Unfortunately I usually have my seat at the limits so that may be the best solution.

It is available in 8.5x11 sheets for about a buck.

Be advised that craft store adhesives don't tolerate the heat of auto interiors very well.

I'd suggest using Armor-All or a silicone spray to see if that will stop the squeaks. Apply sparingly to one area at a time so that you can determine what is rubbing. Bear in mind that these products will prevent good adhesion later, if you decide to try the felt at a later date.

I'm not your height, but I still had the squeaks. I found these seat belt shoulder cushions worked.

Then for other squeaks and rattles, I bought this... black and 1/4 in thick.

Amazon Amazon

This might work to hang/mount it. Adhesive on one side... cut a piece for the car interior and matching for the foam.

I've never had a problem with adhesive felt in the several cars I used it in.

I feel your pain. If only there was just a couple more inches to recline the seat a little with the seat all the way back. I find I get the most leg room with the seat all the way down and back but I prefer sitting higher up.

Right. All Jag had to do was add about 3-5 inches in the rear (or extend the pedal box out) but it's okay. I'll sacrifice for the driving experience lol
