Default Starting car with flat key fob, can it be done

Can an F-type be started with a flat/dead battery fob, if so how, I know the procedure in entering with emergency key, just if it ever happened would like to know

You have to press the fob against the underside of the facia (there's a small depression to guide you) to make it work. See your manual in the section "Starting the engine".

I did the procedure myself when my key battery died. The manual says it will warn you when the battery is getting low. The manual lies.

It was quick and painless and exactly as scm described. The one gotcha is YOU WILL SET OFF YOUR CAR ALARM! I was not prepared for that.

If you aim to "be prepared", assure that your emergency key is in EACH fob, and that each key can unlock the door via the lock behind the driver's door.
You might need to apply some Graphite Lubricant to the key & lock to get everything turning.
