Knock 30% off the the quoted engine figure as a rough guide.

Measuring it ought to be more accurate, but will depend on what gear was used for the measurement run, as well as varying between rolling roads, and relying on air temperature, atmospheric pressure, fuel used, whether the engine was heat-soaked or not, operator-applied fudge-factor, and the phase of the moon.

Should be around crank hp * 85%. 15% is lost through the drive train to get the hp to the pavement. For the std. 5L SC 510hp * .85 = 451hp at the wheels. 30% is way too high.

As hinted, there are a lot of contributing factors to the reduction in HP at the crank, to what is measured at the wheels. Note the emphasis on measured, because it's not an infallible thing...

As mentioned, lots of factors in what sort of numbers you get; gears, temperatures, heatsoak, how tight it's strapped down, plus the variance in the dyno manufacturers and calibration.

I was surprised to learn recently that the tyres themselves have a big influence on the rwhp, soft/sticky tyres will give you a considerably lower reading than harder compounds (or older, worn rubber).

Personally I would be looking at what other people have got on the dyno, rather than trying to put the % off the crank rating.

Also check what XKR's & XFR's have pulled, as they should be comparible.
