Default Steering Feel

Greetings all,

I was just talking cars with my brother and talked about how (relatively) light the steering is on the Jag compared to other sports cars I've owned. Does anyone know of any methods to increase the steering resistance? This is a complete shot in the dark, and I've never heard of that being a thing, but I figured if anyone had the same concerns as me and the know-how to rectify it, it would be someone on this forum. Thanks as always!

I don’t recall anyone attempting this. I assume your car has Dynamic mode? It definitely firms up my steering (some.) I’m sure you’re aware that Jag switched from hydraulic assist to electric assist at some point, though no one’s really complained here about that.

Yeah I don't mind the electric rack at all. Feedback is.....limited but that's what you sacrifice for some refinement. I know there are tons of tuning options for everything from transmission to suspension, but there aren't any options for steering which I find very interesting. I always drive the car in individual mode with the steering in Dynamic mode. Again, the steering isn't bad by any measure, but a heavier steering feel would be lovely.

I asked my dealership about the possibility of increasing the steering resistance back when I had the 2018 base model and they said there was no way to do it. I haven't asked about the 2022 I have now but I may ask the next time I'm in for service.

Understood. I'll ask my dealer when I bring the car in for service at the end of the month. Jaguar reported that the '24 R75 had some alleged components that improved the steering feel (as reported by Car and Driver), but I looked on Jaguar OEM parts and all the steering components appear to be identical from '21 - '24. Maybe a software tune was afoot? No idea.

I always drive with the steering in Dynamic and have grown accustomed to the light feel, even in that setting. What I find missing is the "on center" feel.
