Default Steering Wheel Trim on 2015 very gummy feeling

Does anyone know if the trim can be replaced on the 2015's steering wheel with the newer polished aluminum trim Jaguar makes for newer models will fit on 2015's? My trim is like this rubber feeling type and its not holding up well. Feels real tacky. I've tried cleaning it but while I can get it clean the tackiness never really goes away.

Check this thread out, talks about cleaning: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...s-trim-250872/

I do remember seeing threads with part numbers so I would suggest a search

This is typical issue on early models.
Options:
repainting in satin black, gloss black or any other color (including OEM silver-ish style)
replacing with OEM silver (you just need to be careful here as there are two types and if you have flat bottom wheel than this option is NOT valid)

I do have a flat bottom. Can I upgrade my steering wheel to a newer kind?

With flat bottom your only option is or to find 2nd hand non-sticky set of bezels or repaint yours.

Check out this thread. If these are the parts you want to replace, they can be ordered from Jaguar. The only downside is that the airbag must be removed to replace the top trim piece.
