Strange Control Gremlin
Hi there fellow F-Type'rs, I was out of town for three weeks and pulled the car out for a spin for the first time today. All seemed well and it is a beautiful spring day here is PA now that the rain has stopped.
However when reaching to turn off the audio system so as to enjoy exhaust burbles and spring sounds, I could not - the button seems to have stopped working, all other controls seem fine. Oh well maybe will need a trip to the dealer I though and paused my tunes instead. I stopped at my local grocery store to pick up some bits and locked the car, upon return I opened the lift gate and my audio came on! Never done that before, in peering inside it looked like it had turned on accessory mode. So I closed the lift gate and the audio went off.
Opening the drivers door turned accessory mode back on with audio, but once I got in and shut the door it went off. Odd I thought, press the start button and all seemed normal - except I still couldn't turn the audio on or off with the button.
Before I bother to take the round trip to my dealer - has anyone else experienced similar issues? If so what was the problem? It seems very much like a system bug to me and I was wondering if a reset might fix it. If it is the audio on/off button that is somehow stuck on - has anyone replaced one and if so how difficult is it?
Oh I should say that previously it has been operating flawlessly and this seems to be a result of inactivity.
Your comments and feedback are greatly appreciated.

I performed a reset today by disconnecting the battery for 10 mins then reconnecting. No change, still odd behavior. I noticed that the car turns on accessory mode with audio running if you simply open the hatch and leave it for a couple of minutes.
I guess I'll call my dealer

If you have a battery charger, might as well try topping off the battery. Low batteries can do strange things in these cars, but this is a new one. I suspect the audio power button is a momentary-contact switch which is stuck down.
In my MY14, when I turn off the ignition, the radio turns off immediately. But I can then press the audio power button, and it turns on, until the car goes to sleep (~10 minutes.) I hear this is standard Jag behavior.

I agree, I think the button is stuck 'on'. I realize my description of it coming on in accessory mode is incorrect, its only the center display that comes on - which is consistent with turning on the audio via the on/off switch without turning on the car.
Called my dealer and scheduled the car for a visit. I just hope that switches are readily available as they dont pre order parts on spec
