Default Strange thing in Dynamic Mode Happened

I have had the most fun this week with my car. It is a sweet machine, and really a load of fun.

Today, a strange thing happened to me. I had it in dynamic mode, and all of a sudden coming out of a traffic light just turning green, it would rev, as if it was in standard 1st gear, and not change gears. I stepped on the accelerator and the Tach revved at a high level, and still stayed in 1st. I had to take it out of dynamic mode and everything went back to normal. Previously to this, I was backing out of a parking space, and it jumped from R to P, I then took a double take, and put it into D to go forward. I looked around to see if anybody was coming, and it jumped back to P again?

Odd occurrences and I am convinced there is some sort of a problem. It is "spotty" when it happens (today being the first time) and I don't know how to re-create this?

Anybody else experience this? Hmmmmm situation ? Wasn't enough to stop my enjoyment this week with the car, but it has me perplexed at the moment.

Is it possible you may have touched a paddle, just prior? That's easy to do, and all it takes is a minor brush against them.

If so, it takes awhile for the auto to revert back to regular auto mode if your paddles are enabled to work in auto, which is menu selectable. If paddles are enabled in auto, what you described can happen even if the shifter is not moved to the left for sport mode (manual shifting only), regardless of whether it's in dynamic or regular.

1st issue you definitely hit a paddle. 2nd one, by chance did you have a door open?

Yep, on the door open part for your second issue. If you as much as crack the door or if it isn't latched tight, it snaps into park to try to save you from yourself.

This has happened to my wife on several occasions now, so I can attest its super easy to do. I keep forgetting to disable that in the controls.

I've had this happen too, suspect it is an inadvertent knock of the paddle.

Thanks everybody. The two reasons given are certainly logical, and I just started using these paddles this past week as I got used to the car, and drove it more.

The first time, I had to open and close the door (it did save myself from me :-))

The second time I was at a light, and my fingers were touching the paddles, so this is true.

Appreciate the immediate feedback, and make it a great week!
