Default Supercharged V8 continues to live on

Hi Guys,
I saw two new model Range Rover Sport SVO badged vehicles in West Hampton Long Island today. One was a dark grey color and the other Range Rover was white color.

At least the supercharger V8 engine lives on through the Range Rover model.

I suspect it has the 4.4l twin turbo V8 Beemer engine not the AJ133.

I was not aware that Range Rover would use the BMW turbo motor. Personally I hate turbo engines. It kills the exhaust sound.

Yes. The Range Rover V8 is now the BMW 4.4 twin turbo. So is the Defender Octa. But the defender V8 is still the JLR 5.0 supercharged

Having driven cars with the BMW and the AMG twin turbo V8s, I have to say I'm impressed.

Yes, good engines in the BMW and AMG. Both of these engine are "hot Vee" engine layouts. Essentially, the heads are reversed so the exhaust manifolds are in the Vee and the intake(s) are outside where the exhaust manifolds traditionally would be. This puts the exhaust right at the turbos and eliminates turbo lag.

I had an AMG GTS with the 4.0L TT hot vee layout. It was a great car!
