That's what I mean ,on there website should have a certain combination will only work, and you acknowledge that at the end of the sale, they made a mistake that can be corrected, but in there defense there products are very good and reliable, this is a rare case scenario they should be given a chance to make good ,just fix the guys car and everyone's happy and aware

Ok
just to clarify
were you using the Vap upper pulley and the correct dimensions or were you using a smaller spec to gain more boost
if you were using the correct size pulley then other than install error I would agree there is a likely issue
however if you were experimenting with the different pulley size then I would say that is your error

the tensioner is basically only a stronger spring and the same dimensions as the original

obviously Vap would be testing their product using their upper pulley and not everyone else’s pulleys
this is just common sense
if you’re doing a mix and match then that’s comes out as your risk
Nobody in the world will guarantee or warranty anything that is used in conjunction with other companies products

so list exactly what size upper pulley and lower pulley if applicable and what engine size

So fess up
have you fitted a 58mm upper pulley to a v8

something that all tuners only recommend for the v6 in a attempt to get more boost because that’s what it sounds like
the 58mm pulley is for the v6

I don’t want to get involved in any disputes, but I have been running a 58mm pulley on the v8 since April 2024 with no issues and with a stock tensioner with a slightly shorter belt to avoid any belt slip.
i have driven over 16,000 miles with that 58mm pulley.
I also have spoken to Stuart on many occasions and he is a very friendly and helpful person. The products Stuart sells look of very high quality hence the price!
I would have used one of his griptech pulleys but went a different route.

i am not picking sides here but,

I believe that any pulley that is slightly out of alignment will cause issues. Belt slip would eventually burn the belt. Bad alignment would shred the belt. I have 30 years under my belt as a vehicle technician and have previously worked for a Land Rover dealer, so I believe I have plenty of technical experience. Just a mm of misalignment can cause big problems.
if I had a belt shred I would definitely would be checking my belt routing and alignment of all pulleys concerned. It can get very expensive if you get a fan blade go through a radiator and also take out sensor wiring and other components in its path.

Hope this helps! 😎

if the stock tensioner is sufficient, why did you install the upgraded tensioner which adds more tension and constant pressure? It sounds like you created a problem that didn’t exist before, but we don’t really know all the facts.
