Default Thermostat

2016 F Type S AWD

Ive had my car for a few weeks, and the following issue hasn't been important enough to drop by the dealer, but I am curious if this is a common problem and/or if anyone knows if it is an easy fix? It so minor, I dont want to take it in if it's going to turn in to something bigger....

The interior temperature is shown on both the round knobs on the dash and on the multi media touch screen. For some reason, the temp shown on the touch screen is always 1 degree below what is shown on the knob.

If I set it to 72 on the knob, it shows 71 on the touch screen. No matter where I set it, it's always 1 degree less. It's really not a big deal, but is kind of annoying....it seems like there is a bug in the system.

Perhaps the display and the climate control use separate sensors and the separate locations really are different. I have not ever noted the indicated interior temperature. I just turn the knob up or down a click or two as desired. I have noticed that the temperature is not uniform throughout the cabin. I attribute that to the small interior volume.

The readouts in both locations are set points, not measured temps.

The two knobs show the set points, but what about the third location, the touchscreen display?

The touchscreen shows both set points and the external ambient temp.
Notice: the touchscreen on mine is also showing 1 degree less than the knob settings.

I just went out and looked at mine. The things I do for you guys ...

I have never paid any attention to that information, since it's (nearly) duplicated in the same view. The outside temperature is also duplicated, in the center section of the instrument panel.

Anyway, mine read identically for both sides, to the half degree. Yes, I have mine set for Celsius. It's either a rounding discrepancy for Fahrenheit, or it's just to mess with the rebellious colonials.

Mine behaves the same way -- off by 1 degree F.

Never let it said that Jaguar owners suffer from 1st World Problems...

One readout has the demanded temperature, the other has what the system has achieved.

The Horror, the Horror...

They are both requested temperature. Yes, I just confirmed it. By walking outside again. I'll repeat: The things I do for you people ...

I'm going to maintain my "rounding discrepancy" theory, since I don't see it with my controls set to Celsius. Unless the Brittanicals really are playing a very subtle joke on the upstart former colony; in which case, I doff my cap, sirs. Nicely done.

Interesting: on mine it's always 1 degree cooler on the screen (see above).

TSB kit involves a piece of black electrical tape applied over each digital readout on the knobs.
