Timing chain upgrade
I'm replacing head gaskets on my recently acquired 2014 F-type 3.0 S. I have read about all the timing chain issues, but is there a timing chain upgrade available to a wider version for this engine?
If so, I'm guessing it has to be quite expensive considering what all needs to be changed and that it's not a high-volume item.
I don't plan to use this sweetheart as an everyday driver. nor will it ever go cross country. Mostly Sunday trips to the lake and once or twice weekly to the golf course. So, I'm guessing the standard chain will suffice. I didn't purchase it for performance, just the looks. A convertible F-type looks really sharp, IMHO.

I "think" all the F type v6's have the upgraded parts. Search on it here. If my memory serves, you might be able to see the chain on with the oil fill cap taken off....others can likely supply far better data but my gut says your chain may be the "fixed" one already.
That's what I've read here. It was only the early V8s that had the old design, but I can't remember what "early" actually means in this context.
Why are you replacing the cylinder head gaskets?
JLR updated/changed the timing gear (chains, guides, tensioners, sprockets etc) on the V8 in 2012 and when the V6 came out the same year it also had the updated timing gear. So every V6 F-Type ever made has the updated gear which is far less problematic than the old V8 gear, and there is no need to go to the expense of renewing the timing gear on the V6 unless or until it really needs it which is quite rare these days.
