As a prospective owner shopping for an F-Type, I've been frustrated trying to find correct options and build info. I had been using a free VIN lookup service that CarEdge.com offered, and while it was hit or miss with correct options lists, it was at least free. CarEdge has recently taken that service down, however, so I had to move on. I tried registering on Jaguar Topix, but accidentally recorded the wrong password and have not been able to log in. I did email support and they requested all kinds of info in order to help, including dealer code, so I didn't bother pursuing it. All that were left, other than harassing a poor Jag dealer parts desk person, were paid services, so I tried Monroney.com. It cost $10 to get the same crappy, inaccurate "window sticker" that I was getting from CarEdge, so that was not worth the money.
But then I discovered VinAnalytics.com, and boy, what you get for $10 is amazing! It appears to be the build sheet, listing every Package and option code on the vehicle. Not all the codes are perfectly or clearly identified, so a little Google decoding may be required. For example, my build lists option code 025LN as Meridian Surround Sound System, but that is the code for 770w system, not the 335w one (or whatever wattage it is).
The only thing it doesn't list is any kind of pricing, not MSRP, base price, sticker price or any options pricing.
Anyway it's a great resource if you're into knowing what options a particular car has, and IMO, is well worth the money. I'll try to attach a screenshot of the VinAnalytics output.
Here's another tip for those in the hunt for a used F-Type: Lemon Squad PPI service doesn't allow for their more expensive, detailed and careful Exotic level inspection on the F-Type (MY19, at least), and instead defaults to Standard inspection level. I ordered online and was surprised to find I couldn't select the type of inspection, so I booked the Standard as provided and called on the phone, thinking I'd made a mistake somewhere. It was an agent who told me that the system auto-selects the inspection type, and F-Type does not qualify for Exotic level scrutiny (unlike Porsche! I definitely don't consider Porsche exotic).
Looking at another F-Type earlier, I did find a service called Car Advisors working in Charlotte, NC. They provided a very comprehensive and personalized inspection for the same $220ish money Lemon Squad is asking for their Standard inspection. In fact, I was assigned a Car Advisors inspector and given their mobile number, and was able to communicate directly with them and to make specific requests. It was great! The 400 Sport turned out not to be, with undisclosed (on CarFax) repairs evidenced by replacement welds and paint thickness readings, and had a rather large spot of peeling clearcoat on the the passenger door, suggesting subpar repaint prep, which also was not disclosed in the dealer listing, so as I'm not looking for a project car, the Car Advisors PPI was a lifesaver well worth the expense. I know they work in some other markets, but are not at all national level like Lemon Squad.
