The tires can't be any newer, maybe 10 miles on them.

Comment about wear was related to all the whitish marking around the wheel rim.

To me its a cosmetic thing and so many people vary in what they feel is appealing to their eye. My neighbor has the ugliest rims on his wifes Lexus and his BMW 5 series. He thinks it makes the cars. Clearly all in taste.
