Default Interior Lighting on Base F type - Anyway to toggle on?

I have a 16 Base F Type. I saw there is LEDs under the door handle (Above "Surround Sound" speaker) and on the passenger "oh S**t" handle but there is no software option to turn it on. I saw a few threads talking about it but has anyone figured out how to get these prewired LEDs to turn on?

Sounds like you have the configurable version that came on higher trim cars. What year/trim is your car?

16MY did not come with configurable lighting for the base model. You would need to edit the CCF files of the car to enable it but ALSO install the LEDs for the configurable option. JLR parts catalogue has two part numbers for the LEDs. One for the base (which is just the blue/green) and the other is for configurable.

what if I don’t want configurable. I just want the blue LEDs (I think they’re already installed from the looks of it) to turn on. I saw a post where someone just spliced in a wire in the door to turn on the LEDs above the “surround sound” badge but I couldn’t see the details of where the wires were connected.

My '18 Base had the blue/green lights and they worked from the factory. They weren't configurable (other than turning red in Dynamic mode) but there was nothing needed to activate them. I don't know if the earlier years were different but you could start by checking fuses to make sure you don't have a blown fuse that's keeping them from coming on.

I don't think it's a fuse issue, I went through and checked all the fuses in the passenger footwell while hardwiring a dashcam.

I believe a few years ago, a few people discovered they had the blue lighting, but it didn’t work from the factory. You might be able to find the thread.

Thanks to all the research and researchers here, along with the posts and photos, my local Jaguar Tech got to the root of what was preventing those door handle and grab handle lights from coming on. The Tech ran a guided self-test to initialize an offline module. Once initialized, the lighting worked perfectly. He referenced B1412-96 Quiescent Relay. I looked this part up on Google and there are many posts regarding issues with this unit. This is on a MY2017 Base with Premium.

As much as I want to peruse this, My car is out of factory warranty and I don't feel like paying $250 diag and then probably just as much of an "software installation" fee. I wish there was a DIY way of doing this.
