On MY 15 R, instrument panel just alerted that right front tire pressure low at 28psi. Per the plate on the door, all 4 tires are supposed to be at 37psi. I personally keep them at 35psi.
MY concern is why did the panel wait till the tire was at 28psi ?
Of course I am going to keep and eye on the pressure, if it drops again will have the tire inspected.

 

My manual says "The presence of a TPMS does not remove the need to check tyre pressures as part of a vehicle safety check." It also says "The tyre pressure warning lamp illuminates when one or more of the tyres are significantly under-inflated." So it looks like it's intended to be useful in emergency deflation situations, not regular maintenance. As you say, keep an eye on the pressures, that right front sounds like it needs attention.

 

I keep all mine at 39 psi cold, getting ready for coming drop in temps...
