I just came back from a blast. Suddenly a warning came on : tire pressure right front low 2.4bar. It briefly went to 2.3bar and back to 2.4bar.
Didn't want to get stranded so went home asap. Tied it up with the compressor and checked all 4 ; all weer 2.5 bar.
So I filled them to 2.7bar ; info on the b-pillar says 2.5 around. Got into the car and now it says 2.5bar is low ???
It’ either the sensor or the receiver. Either way, it’ll be covered under warranty.
I'll ask the guys at the garage tomorrow. Means another road trip while I just wished them 'happy holidays' after the yearly service of my D3,
hoping nothing would break for the remainder of the year... ... but this is warranty, so only costs me € 50 in petrol and half a day...
I know what's broken : the manometer on the compressor... That gave a reading of 2.7bar. But when I looked in the car display and paged through the menu,
until I came to a page showing '2.2 bar' all around and the required values ( 2.5 bars ) behind it..
So I pulled out a calibrated manometer that I carry in my Landrover, and the onboard sensors proved to be correct. So I raised the pressure to 2.9bar on de
manometer from the compressor, so the calibrated one said 2.6 bars.
I did not have to drive the car around : the onboard display gave '2.6' to and when I switched to contact off the warning sign went out too.
The dramitic drop in temperature [from 22C down to 2 C ] caused the drop in tirepressure I presume..
I always have a good quality (calibrated) manometer in the glow box, as I do not trust the manometers on various compressors.
So far my quality manometer and the onboard manometer (TPMS) have given the same readings (which can not be said of the compressor manometers on different gas stations….)
