Never heard of or seen red letters for the tread plates.
If you are talking about illuminated tread plates they come only with the default interior lighting colour called Phosphor Blue, but I guess it is possible to swap out the LEDs for red ones.
If you are talking about the standard tread plates - silver lettering on aluminium - then it should be possible to paint the letters red, although you would probably need to apply some primer to them first to get the paint to stick.

I did a similar mod a few years ago on a different car I owned. However, instead of paint (masking, bleed, brush marks, over spray) I used adhesive vinyl sheets. Since the areas are slightly recessed, peeling at the edges was not an issue. Here is the general procedure:
  • Purchase vinyl sheet (ebay, Amazon) in your choice of color. I had good results with 3M's sheet products. Sheet length should not be an issue if you are cutting out the letters individually, but get a bit more than you need in case you want to redo a couple.
  • Make a 'rubbing' of the door sill letters. Blank paper and the flat side of a pencil, just like in grade school.
  • Use the rubbing as a template and cut the letters out of the vinyl using an x-acto knife.
  • Thoroughly clean the sills and apply the letters. I used tweezers to position the letters before pushing down to adhere them.
Even though my cut outs weren't perfect, I got great results due to the recessed nature of the letters. It looked factory. Or, I am sure you can take it to a sign or graphics shop that does automotive work to do it for you.

On a side note, from what I have seen in other posts, getting the tread/sill plates off of these cars can be a real challenge.

Good luck!
